Yeah I don't get it, as long as the content is good there shouldn't be an issues about optimization or link building.

all my local emds are doing just fine "citynameservice.com" and it did not seem to effect maps/places/+1 whatever the fuck its called these days

I don't have a lot of emds (about 7) - however all were unaffected, other than a 2 year old 2 word hyphenated info. That one never ranked in the US, but in the UK it was #53, dropped to #620.

Wickedfire? Evil??!! Wickedfire is not malevolent, it simple is. But then I am given to pause to wonder, is it possible that you are correct marketer? I have been battling the search engines for thousands of days, I am surely to have triumphed long ago. But what if, like torched Sisyphus, I cannot win? Ever? What a cruel joke. Most of my sites that were in the top ten also dropped off the face of the Earth today too, non-EMD might I add. So it's not just EMDs that are affected. Might be a coincidence but those rankings were holding pretty steady before Matt Cutts sent out the Twitter post.

Just like every update they do, there seems to be a lot of innocent casualties with this one.

I have an emd.com, it's just a blog on a very general topic, the domain is like "generaltopicblog.com". I just add posts every once in a while that I write myself and the posts are extremely high quality because it is a topic that I'm actually interested in. The site got totally nuked, doesn't even rank for "general topic blog".

Same thing with another, but that one only had 3 posts.

I'm about to just start sending in reconsideration requests....

Wow, how'd you find that out? It would seem to concur with what I'm seeing too. +Rep.

I don't do a lot of under-500-word pages anymore. Despite what most WFers thought when they read my 3K post I make pretty good content and there is definitely some YouTube vids mixed throughout.

Overall I think I'm near even. I'll wait it out before I say more.
