In 2010 Omar Thornton decided to shoot up his workplace, and in the process he killed some friends of some friends of mine. He blamed the shooting spree on "racism" before shooting himself. Now, his mother is having a memorial service for him on the two year anniversary of the shooting. She's even set up a site to take donations, and on flyers promoting the event goes so far as to refer to him as a "hero".

I think you need to grow up, it has nothing to do with you and is pretty fucked up enough.
 
Donate $0.01 to find out the email address of the paypal account, then send a large amount (say $5k?) followed by a dispute claiming unauthorised payment. You'll get it back, their account will be frozen until they provide ID.

Why? Is op really going to benefit as a human knowing he fucked a traumatized woman out of some funds from family friends donated to her psychotic sons memorial fund? He is a loser then in that case and I wish more of his friends died.

I think she is totally within her rights to try and organize a memorial service for her son.

I also think that I am totally within my rights to make it difficult or impossible for her to do so.
 
Imagine the "demographic" that might donate her. I think she cant raise a good amount. (Even a 3 figure is doubtful)
 
Personally, I say leave it. The woman's grieving man.. she lost a son. It's not like she was responsible for the guys actions. She probably doesn't understand it all herself but would like to remember him in some way.
