OP, you're obviously new to WF if you didn't see the flaming coming. You really thought people would shower you with love and affection for an idea like this?
Do you know how hard it is to compete with a site regged in 1998 with close to 1 million backlinks and a faithful userbase? I just quickly glanced at his backlink profile, and it all looks legit. Tons of mommy blogs in there. Plus the fact that it's an EMD and seemingly hasn't been hit by either Penguin or the EMD update tells you that he knows what the fuck he's doing in terms of online marketing.
I personally think his site looks just fine. Simplistic design but that's what I personally like. No useless fancy shit. Straight to the point. Can it be improved? Probably. Does it need to be improved? Probably not. Why fix it if it's not broken? The guy is banking 7 figures and chilling on a boat somewhere, while you and your ma are his clients.
If you think you can compete with this guy for 20-30k you're crazy. He's a smart motherfucker and you should learn from him.
Now that said, you have 2 options at this point. You either:
1) Agree with us, stomach all our insults and go back to your peasant life.
2) Grow some balls, go borrow some money somewhere, and start your own sweepstakes site and come prove us wrong in 2-3 years.

Kinda regret posting this because (besides that I seem to have made an ass of myself) while, yes, many of his members that I know do complain that this guy is the only game in town and really wish he had some competition, I just don't feel it's my place to out the specifics of his business model (so, please, no more PMs regarding this).

You need to put a hyphen in between the two words, and then you'll see the correct results.
OP, there are lots of sweepstakes sites around, and the one you mentioned isn't even the biggest. They tend to come and go because they're tough to monetize, especially since the recession hit.
Also, if you look at the sheer volume of what the major sites actually list, you'll see least 7K sweepstakes live and running at all times. Do you have any idea of the manpower it takes to find, edit and maintain an active database of sweepstakes content? It requires a staff that works every day, all year, and we're not even talking about moderators for the forum.
Tip for the clueless: Members of sweepstakes forums are highly competitive and tend to attack each other publicly. The mods will be very busy putting out daily fires.
Shameless plug: I talked about how mom blogs can help marketers use sweepstakes to obtain leads in the WF Traffic forum. I think marketers need think more creatively about the possibilities, and not copy somebody's 1998 business model.
