Myspace Ads Over-charged!

Thanks Brandon-
Through Majorbta I was put in touch with the Director of the Ad Platform this morning. They're still trying to troubleshoot the issue but are fully aware of a glitch on their billing platform. As he doesn't want his contact info floating around, he ask that I pass along MyAds Usernames of those individuals that have been having the same billing issues so as to better help assess the problem. Feel free to PM or AIM me if you'd like him to take a look at your accounts as I will be passing this along to him shortly.

Has anyone gotten any sort of communication whatsoever from Myspace about this? I sure haven't. If anyone has a phone # to reach a live human being at Myspace please PM me I'd appreciate it.

Just got an email...
Valued MyAds customer,
We’re contacting you in order to notify you that we’ve identified a billing error that has impacted your account. In order to resolve the matter, we will be issuing a refund to your credit card for all invalid transactions. You should see the refund reflected in your MyAds billing history shortly.
On behalf of the entire MySpace team, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, and want you to know that we appreciate your business and look forward to seeing additional campaigns go live!
Best,
MySpace
Good to hear, we'll see how it goes.

Yeah got that too.. just checked ALL of my traffic from them and caught about a $20k discrepency in them overcharging me.

You guys should all look at your traffic and billing records, it took me about an hour but its worth it.

Does anyone see a refund yet? Or a credit pending on their credit card?

I changed my credit card to a gift card to absorb the false charges, think they are gonna send the credit to my gift card?

invisible, i'm in the same boat as you. i changed my main acct which got the most of the overbilling to a prepaid as well. i haven't seen anything show up on the card, or on the MS billing stats. but i have another account that i got an email for which has the original card still on it, and it hasn't seen any credits either. just have to wait and see.

i switched back in my original credit card, crossing my fingers they don't do any more damage.

If there's no resolution by EOY I'm contacting my attorney. They've literally outright stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions from all of us and it almost seems like they could care less. Agreed, they've sent out these canned messages saying they're aware of the issues (well I hope so, you suddenly had a whole damn lot of extra cash sitting around.)

IMO any other similar company would have started refunding within 24-48 hours. Either they don't have appropriate tech staff to sort through this mess or they simply don't want to devote their precious holiday hours to figuring it out. Let's see how the next few weeks unfold.

To get any uncanned response, tell them you are pissed, and email them the same question about 20 times. Worked for me.

Spoke w/ Dell @ Myspace and looks as though refunds (at least mine) have been initiated. This is reflected on MyAds under billing as a "refund" and are pending transaction credits on my CC.

If you haven't gotten a refund yet and you are really mad, you should demand the money back + interest. This only seems fair to me. Especially if they held your money (~$20k) for a week or more.

I know for a fact that MySpace has had problems in the past with not enough and not experienced enough staff.

Change your campaigns to lifetime limits instead of daily, as daily limits is the cause of the problem. They have started sending out refunds, I was credited a little over 18k today.

If anyone still needs help, PM me your name, email, and phone number and I will send it to the director. He asked me to not publicly post his info, but said he would follow up with anyone I sent him, and has done so for 3 people so far.

My status: refund transactions are now on my Myspace Billing page, but nothing has hit or is pending on my credit card.
