Near future tech thriller.
These really only work together. Daemon is unpolished, but sets the stage (and an OK book in itself, but Freedom is where he delivers.
Please forget about his third book "Kill Decision" - utter crap.
A Madness of Angels , The Midnight Mayor - Kate Griffin

"Urban Fantasy" basically, a mage in a modern setting.
Sounds crap, but is actually quite well done. Here as well, forget any of the books after those two.
