Hello, What can I do to make more money with affiliate marketing? Thats my question :) Any tips?

read wicked fire, test, optimize and test again. If you want specific ideas PM me with what you have done so far and what you know how to do and i will try to help out

Thanks. I will PM you soon.

If you want to run your own offer in our network i can get you in touch with someone in ad sales to help get the offer in our network.

With regards to being paid on the back end of a lead generation deal you would really need to work with the actual end user of those leads direct as most networks wouldn't and couldnt manage this. A word of caution if you're going this route. First you need to trust the person you're giving the leads to. They can easily say a lead didn't close and screw you out of a few dollars. Also the money you make is only as good as their sales people. if their sales people suck your ROI will suck.

I think affiliate marketing will always be around. You will definitely see a consolidation in the industry, i really don't think there is room for 150 networks. I think you will see some company's being bought up and others going out of business. i can tell you that in the past few months i have received more letters about companies going out of business and not paying their bills than i have seen in the 9 years i have been in internet marketing.

Hope that helps

Mike:

Given 1200 e-mail addresses (CAN-SPAM compliant) for a proxy (http://ffs.in/), how would you market to these people? (Side note: a majority of traffic is MySpace/Bebo, etc. with some technical stuff).

On another similar note, do you know of any ZIP-submits that convert particularly well for this genre?

Jason

I'm probably gonna get flamed hard for this silly question but here goes. Forgive my newbieness.

What exactly does an account manager do for affiliates? What are they responsible for?

Thanks!

Hmm To figure out what people would buy you need to think of what type of people use a proxy and why. I would think they use proxies to surf for porn outside of work, or to get on a site that their job blocks. Then try to think of what that type of person would be interested in and promote it to them. So maybe people are using your proxy to get on myspace at work. Promote online dating to them or ringtones, or whatever you see in banners on the sites they visit.

Your AM should help you decide on offers, give you ideas to promote those offers, and any help you need to make money. They can also become good friends that you share a lot of good conversation with

Thanks for the help, one more quick question:

Do you have any good guides/hints as to advertising via e-mail (primarily for the younger generation (Jr High to High School))?

Jason

Mike,

I've been making between 15-20k per month selling my own services and products over the Internet for the last year.

I've signed up under 4 affiliate networks, and the only ones I've made shit with is the Yahoo Network (about 10k so far in 2007) and some credit repair company I sold leads to (about 4k) both on CJ.com.

I bring that up because it's pretty obvious that I'm kind of sucky at matching my customers up with offers that are comparable to my own product, and I don't want to go shove a bunch of shit in their faces and pray that it works.

What would you do/who would you talk to about matching up offers with your current customer/prospect base?

Sifting through campaigns is just not working for me...

Thanks!

If you're looking for possible demand, you can use google trends (trends.google.com).

It seems though, that a lot of successful campaigns rely on pulling over related traffic and converting them.

Eg. American Idol fans into ringtones
eBay auctioneers into zip/email submits (via a freebie guide you auction on eBay).

The more guerilla your tactics, the more successful you're likely to be.
You want to go where no man has been to and be the only supplier there.

If you find a good Work At Home forum that no one has been at, that's a good opportunity to push biz op stuff, and even try for real estate offers like the robert allen/carlton sheets ones.

I've thrown aff links into seemingly dormant forums and continue to get new sign ups every month...

When you start doing research for a new product to push, what is the FIRST thing you do?

How essential is knowing php (or knowing someone that knows php) these days when doing AM? That's not a good question, but I'm getting my php on to automate all of this shit I can't do anymore.

What do you mean guides/hints? offers? or how to get them to respond?

Are you trying to come up with offers to advertise on your sites? If so what type of site is it? You should put yourself in the shoes of your users. If you have a site about Yoga mats, then you should be looking for the latest health crazes, diets, workout equipment, etc

Dont know anything technical, i hire people to do it. Maybe a technical guide can help you out (if there are any)

Yeah...how to get them to respond/click, assuming that the product/offer is interesting to them. Per se...the packaging.

Jason

Do you use HTML or Text emails? And make it sound more like a friend of theirs telling them about a great offer.

Ex:

Yo i can't believe it but i got approved for a car loan and got a brand new Lexus. Check out my new ride on my friendster page and these are the awesome guys that got me hooked up if you're looking to get a new ride.

If promoting an international offer via PPC, such as the US Green Card offer, would you recommend writing your ad, and using keywords in the language you are targetting?

Only if the site is in that language too. Otherwise youll waste clicks. People wont be able to read the site.

As far as adwords go i believe you can use your redirect as the display and the destination. Those that are redirecting right to the offer changed it once google looked it over. Google does not allow a redirect like that but people do get away with it.

I would build your own landing page as it will help with quality score and will also give you the ability to sell your user on the offer. linking direct to the offer hasnt worked for me. Build a real site and process to feed the offer not just a basic landing page.

If you're building your own landing page for an offer that requires the user to submit information (email, zip, survey, etc), is it better to create a landing page with forms and pass that data to the advertisers page? Or just a basic "CLICK HERE!" kind of template, like with the ringtone landing pages that have you select your carrier first? I'm currently promoting an offer with a very low CPA but high traffic and I'm afraid that putting an extra click between the user and the conversion (namely my landing page) could take the conversion rate into the red.
