If you're building your own landing page for an offer that requires the user to submit information (email, zip, survey, etc), is it better to create a landing page with forms and pass that data to the advertisers page? Or just a basic "CLICK HERE!" kind of template, like with the ringtone landing pages that have you select your carrier first? I'm currently promoting an offer with a very low CPA but high traffic and I'm afraid that putting an extra click between the user and the conversion (namely my landing page) could take the conversion rate into the red.

Sometimes the extra click helps. People think they are narrowing their search down, as in the case with the carrier pages you see in ringtones. Those pages serve two uses but i am sure people continue along in such a high rate because they feel like they are narrowing the search

First of all, thank you for the opportunity to ask these questions.

What do you think about advertising with smaller PPC companies (everybody besides, Yahoo, Google, and MSN). I've always read mixed reviews for all of them.

If I start to see that I'm not succeeding, what would be the first thing I should look at to change? I read about people saying, "tweak" your site, but what exactly does this mean? What are you tweaking? Can you provide an example?

I read above you said that direct linking hasn't worked for you, can you explain the reason it doesn't work? The actual companies that are promoting the offer don't have landing pages (as far as I know), so if you have an accurate ad description, and the user clicks on it, they're going to the same site they would have if they found that company on the search listing before yours. Being on a limited budget it's hard for me to get webhosting, domains and start PPC campaigns for every offer, just to test them out, since I don't know which one's are going to work.

Are there any essential websites, publications, tv shows, etc.. to go to, to find out about new offers or promotions from companies? Example: When Blockbuster announced their Total Access program to compete with Netflix, where was the first place it was announced? Would it have been Barron's or Wall Street journal?

Thanks again have a nice evening.

Wow you have a lot of questions if i miss something please repost it, i will try to answer all questions.

Second tier search engines can be good if you figure out how to convert them. For example users on google are specifically looking for something so they are most likely more qualified, some of the lower tier engines, syndicate their search technology and display their advertisers on parked landing pages, other websites, so people are stumbling upon the ad, as opposed to really looking for it. (that is my guess, i can be wrong)

Most of the time direct linking doesnt work because one static design does not work for everything, a lot of advertisers may design their page with email in mind and provide little to no information to the consumer, because email is impulsive, where search people are looking for more information so if the buy or sign up form doesnt have enough info direct linking might force them to go back to the search results to find more information on the search itself before buying.

You can read PR Newswire for company press releases if you want to find stuff out before it gets to big, but some of what you read will be BS and not worth working on. Its hard to find the next big thing before it hits.

mkrongel,

As other have said, thanks a lot for the chance to ask questions.

I have just began working with COPEAC/Azoogle etc for lead-generation affiliate marketing. I've run into a small problem.

Yesterday was my first real day promoting a campaign, from Google straight to the merchant. I made roughly $5-$10 yesterday. Today I have done nothing but lose money, my CTR has dropped horribly and I can't figure out why.

I send traffic directly from Google to the merchant. Should I use a landing page? What other techniques/tips/tricks can you give me regarding this?

I have programming skills, the money to invest, and time. The only thing I don't have right now, is the know-how. If I sound too much like a newbie, I apologize - I tried to be as specific as possible.

Have a great day, and thanks again for this opportunity.

Check the quality score of your keywords in Google. Sending traffic to a redirecting URL or some advertiser's landing page that has no text keywords on it is a good way to get your quality score slaughtered. Struggling with that one myself.

Tweaking your campaign would be something along the lines of increasing click through by testing different ads, decreasing bids in PPC to see if you can get cheaper traffic to convert better for you to increase your ROI. If youre using a landing page in PPC tweaking can also be fixing up the landing page so more people click through to the offer, etc..

Hope that helps.

Just like dog fight said your QS is whats causing the issue, you should use a landing page. If you want IM me or PM me and i can look over what you're doing and offer some advice.

Hi Mike!

I'm going to talk with you more in depth or someone your refer me to but I figured I would pose this questions for other forum readers to read and learn.

90% of my business is self gen for private mortgage companies I represent that are local here in So Cal. I took lead generation and added more levels to increase my income as I stated in other posts. When I get a lead, it comes to me, I qualify and verify and then send to a team that is on stand by for hot mortgage leads. Much like a hot lead transfer system. I get paid on the backend 45% of every loan that funds as a result of adding some steps and verifications in there and having an assistant process the loan. It has proven to be a great success hugely profitable.

The question is I want to monetize the turn downs by verbally referring or emailing, them to a landing page with a debt consol offer or cash advance offer. What do you think would be the best way to do this and what offers do you recommend?

One more question? Is there anyone monetizing a forum with copeac offers all over and is it successful?

Mortgage turn downs might need a credit report or credit repair. You can hook up with a credit repair firm, get their credit cleaned up and then get them referred to the mortgage company and get a double whammy on the consumer

Do you use HTML or Text emails? And make it sound more like a friend of theirs telling them about a great offer.

Ex:

Yo i can't believe it but i got approved for a car loan and got a brand new Lexus. Check out my new ride on my friendster page and these are the awesome guys that got me hooked up if you're looking to get a new ride.

Lets assume primarily HTML.

Jason

Need to implement and track. Good idea. Just need to figure the most lucrative approach to this. Thanks.

Dont you need to be qualified if you take people details and then forward them on to companies?

I ask this question because I think this is the case in the UK, I would of thought that the states would have similar requirements

No license is needed if you do not quote interest rates or perform duties that require a real estate license. Your just a highly paid glorified telemarketer. Just an order taker of sorts.

Cheers!

Thanks for being a good guy and not charging $2,000 to participate in this topic.

1. I know you're strictly a marketer and you hire people to do your programming- but what did you do before you had any connections or enough money to be able to find a trusty programmer and hire him or her? (assuming you started from the bottom like most of us)

I've got the marketing stuff down pretty well and I can build good looking landing pages, but I don't know enough php yet to add any real sophisticated functionality or stat tracking to my sites.

2. Being someone with no programming experience yourself: what do you look for in a programmer? Is someone with experience writing code for affiliate marketing landing pages a must?

Thanks in advance for any help.

my cousin does our IT and has from the start. Its important to have someone you can trust

Damn, all my cousins sell pot or manage pizza places. So it's probably best I network and try to partner up with someone, or learn enough on my own to have a better chance of picking someone who knows what they're doing.

How old are you? Perhaps you can take some part-time programming classes at the local community college or university if you're not already in college. Maybe just sit in on one and see if you want to take it. It's probably the best way to find someone you can actually trust: become friends with them.

That may be a little too intense for some people, but try posting ads at your local school.. that way you'll meet them face to face, so if they suck you can always whoop their ass.
