I just launched my friend Wendy's newly designed photography site, Delicious Photography | the photographic works of Wendy Niamath

This is the third time in 5 1/2 years I have designed her site for her.

Her latest collection, "Green", has gone on display at the newly opened Westin Wall Centre Hotel at the Vancouver International Airport, with light boxes in the lobby, up to 18 foot long prints on aluminum in common areas, and 3 large prints in each of the 180 rooms.

Let me know what you think!

great site. I loved the "ingrediants" pic group. She is a talented photographer.

Nice site/pictures, the only thing I would say is the same as WW's, not too sure about that scrollbar.

Agree with wonder, medium size thumbnails to full size picture would be better for people, so they can choose what picture they want to see, and in full detail. horizontal scrolling also. more about the photographer, maybe info about her shows or basic marketing. better organization of the links and the gui imo. slideshow with music with forward stop buttons in each catergory. This is obvioiusly over the top if this is just hobby stuff or just probono work of yours.

Logo blowz badly and navigation area could be better!
The rest of the site is pretty good (she's a talented photographer).
I don't mind the left/right scroll, I think it's done in a very nice way ;)

Thanks for the feedback thus far, it's greatly appreciated.

No, this isn't a hobby or probono work. Just a bit of explanation about why we went this way...

We've done thumbnails with medium sized pictures, and thumbnails with full screen pictures in flash, along with slide shows (albeit without music), etc. in previous versions. She wanted to ditch the slide show and thumbs and do something different. She feels slide shows tend to impose a time frame on the viewer to conform to. She wanted to still present the photos in a particular order, but allow the visitor to spend as much time as they wanted with each one.

I know the sideways scrolling thing isn't the norm (though it's somewhat popular amongst photographer's sites and she rather likes it), but must we stick to conformity for the sake of what people are used to?

The logo is her design, and yeah it is pretty simple, but I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with it. "blowz badly" is a bit harsh :D It's cute and to the point. She did a flat colour version and I spruced it up a bit with the candy coating. Maybe it should stay totally flat to preserve the minimalist nature of everything?

The objective this time around was to keep things fairly simple and to have a fast loading site. It wasn't meant to be about me making a personal design statement, or having fancy navigation, but about showing off her work.

Looks great to me. The only thing I would say, is that on a photography site, there should be an option to see a BIGGER version of each picture. I found several interesting pictures, but not being able to enlarge them felt strange (especially on a site of this niche).

But, perhaps I'm just used to those high quality euro porn sites that have pictures so big, one boob fills up an entire 24 inch monitor.

I don't know about blows badly, but I don't think it fits with the rest of the design. The rest of it has nice use of white space, clean w/ the use of single pixel strokes around nav etc...all the gradients inside that logo throw it off IMHO. I think the fonts are nice, but the bubble needs to go.

Other than that, nice work as usual.

I personally like the sideways scrolling of the photos.

What's up with the bubblegum logo though?

Nice photography, she does great work. Personally, I really like the way you laid out the photos with the side scrolling. It looks great and it lets the user skip around very easily.

As already stated the logo is out of place. I think something nice, simple, and clean with a colored font and white back ground would look best.

I like the scrolling photos however the one thing you should add are either arrows to scroll or the mouse over scroll.

Lastly, I know this is a bitch to get around when dealing with photos of many sizes but but I don't like how the panoramic view of the city on 10,11,12, & 13 slow feeds the photo over. In my opinion after you see the photos on slide 10, slide 11 should immediately go to the full shot of the panoramic view.

Hi FatBat, nicely done site.

I agree with Max HeadRoom and would also suggest maybe step arrow buttons to go with the numbered image buttons. Then have the button of the image that is centered stay highlighted. (I think that having the image button STAY highlighted after clicking and not just when hovering would be benefical to vistors.)

I like the side scroll design myself.

This. Logo needs an update for the site.
