We need to come up with a list of new rules.. Originally I was going to post this in the mod area, but since we are all part of the community, I think it would be a lot better to get ideas from everyone.

Serious ideas only though, let's keep this on the topic of making this place as great as it can be. These would go on top of the rules we already have. I'll be making a redraft of it shortly.

My ideas:

I'll definitely be using that newbies guide to WF (thanks SEOMike) because we need to control the influx of annoying newbies who come here and think we are going to give them the world of knowledge just because they asked nicely for it.

No nudity in avatars either. We have the NSFW and Boobies icons for a reason, nudity avatars kinda make everything NSFW (as stated by GeorgeB), and as much as I love boobs, I agree with him.

Everyone has to post nude pics of ATTRACTIVE WOMEN (no fat women or chicks with cocks or mustaches) on their 1000th post count in a new thread. If you are not that type of person (either too straight edge, gay, or a woman -- inform us, and we'll find someone to do it for you).

You will receive 1 negative reputation point if you use the boobies or NSFW post icon when the thread has none of that, and you are just using it to try and get more views. I'm so sick of changing the icons from people who do this on a regular basis.

We'll soon be implementing the new user rule of not being able to create a new thread unless you have at least 10 posts. Should deter a lot of the spammers.

Shit.. writers block is taking over again. Post ideas!
 


i love the 1000th post idea, thats what i did, it makes up for no nudity in avatars. Nice Balance Jon. there should be a way to make newbs read the awsome sticky threads before they can post
 
Oh thank goodness, I was going to say something about the nudity in avatars... i view WF from work a lot and i was having to turn off images when I was coming here...

That will make a lot of things easier on me.. Also can you make sure people know that if it is NSFW... they need to say so...

Hmm, also what about some rule like if you do not help add to the overall value of the forum you may get the boot (this could take some less than popular people who are only here for stupid reasons out of circulation).

How do people feel about threadjacking? Sometimes it sucks because you really want the answer, but it is fun as hell 99% of the time.
 
How bout just restricting new threads from noobs(like me) to the "newbie questions" forum?
And if vb allows you to do it, maybe grant thread deletion privs to more people just for that forum so they can help keep it spam free.

Anyway... back from grammar nazi land I vot for lowering that number to 100 or 200 or whatthefuckever .. but once in a thousand is waaaayyyy to high. :D And yes, I am already looking forward to my post 1000.

2. Absolutely no disgusting goatse-like posts. Or if you do LINK to it don't fucking post the picture in the thread.

damnit... I had to look at my folder full of the hottest girls for a very long time, to get that disgusting diseased tit photo out my head. still feel like throwing up.
 
Avatar fixed. Sorry about that everyone. Wasn't thinking about day jobs last night, just having fun and forgot to change it to something more appropriate.

I knew it was fake, but it was still disgusting. It would help me a lot as a moderator if you link to disgusting shit instead of posting it in the thread, because I still have to check all the threads with warnings to make sure people aren't spamming or posting kiddie porn or whatever.
