Do you guys get sudden bursts of creativity when you aren't sleeping normally? I am pretty damn used to staying up for 24+ hours at a time, and for some reason I get my best ideas when I'm borderline delusional from a lack of sleep.

Like this past week for example, I set up 4 small Yahoo search campaigns and goddamn, they are all profitable. I've never had a solid search campaign in my lifetime. I have a list of 12 more to build as well.

Besides Adderal, which I cant find anywhere illegitimately btw, what drugs can I take to keep this shit going? Does the same thing happen to you guys?

I've had the same thing happen in the past. So much shit is running through my head when I go to bed. I end up jotting my ideas into springpad as soon as they pop in my head if I think it would do good. I'm trying to get like 5 projects out of 20 done. I keep piling the ideas on which ends up pissing me off cause there's so much shit I need to do.

Hahaha, same here.

Im stuck between "I need to focus on this" -and- "How much time will this require? Shit, in that case I need to set it up NOW" -and- "Fuck, I need a vacay" -followed by the thought of- "Gee, a hot secretary would be bomb"

Right now I'm living on a 32 hour day for this reason (I stay up 20-22 hours and then sleep for ~10 hours).

Almost always my first 8 hours I'm awake (like right now) I can't get anything done and then once I've been awake for appx 12 hours I get really productive. I try to hold off going to sleep until I start nodding off while working.

Yeah, it happens to me. You kind of go into an altered state with a lack of sleep and access part of your brain you don't normally access. Shamans and stuff sometimes deprive themselves of sleep to go into altered states. It can be like taking drugs.

For me it's kind of like my ability to analyze my own thoughts is really weakened, so I stop talking myself out of good ideas etc.

BTW, if you are looking to stay awake for a long period of time consider trying to slam some red bull. I drove to Florida last week on a 19 hour drive straight through fueled by red bull. I might buy a case of it and try it at home.

I'm exactly like that.

I like Red Bull but I've tried drinking it several days in a row and it seemed to lose its effectiveness after a couple days. If I only drink it once in a while it keeps its kick.

exactly, your brain finally moves out of the way and allows the ideas to flow. Matched with a notepad its straight money

I honestly think that insomnia has many of the same effects as being drunk or under the influence of other substances. I definitely get insomnia goggles and sometimes do get sharper when it comes to creativity.

I agree...and have discovered certain pharmaceuticals that when taken in small doses can bring about that state of mind any time. my main one is available over the counter pretty much everywhere but here in the us. we definitely find out all the cheap random drugs that have millions of uses and get them the fuck out of the people's hands.

Funny, I'm creative all the time *except* for when I'm sleep-deprived. When I'm tired, I have a hard time being motivated to do anything.

same for me.

whenever i drink energy drinks to keep myself up from falling asleep.

i really can't think or do anything.

Best decision I made (besides getting a Adderall script) was to simply accept that, for whatever reason, I'm a productivity animal in the wee hours of the morning.

Same for me. I can be 'up' fueled with coffee but when i try and work i get the 'i'd rather just watch TV' blues.

Having a term paper or a test due the next day also helps me get non-termpaper/non-test related work done. I hear dissertations can give you months of productivity.

This reminds me of taking sleeping pills and playing a little game trying to stroke one out before falling asleep.
