Its been almost 2 weeks now since I've changed my eating lifestyle.

It was bad, Fast food, cheese everything + ice cream and tons of other shit that makes me sick to think about now.

I decided going super strick was not going to work, so I just cleaned my shit up, Now if I do go out and eat, its a wrap and veggies or a chicken salad.

I was eating out 3 meals a day, so I went to my Local Vitamin Shoppe and picked up some really lean protein powder, then the market to get some frozen fruits, strawberries, blueberrys, cherrys, raspberries.

So now I'm having 3 protein shakes (w/blended in frozen fruits for flavor) a day which are about 140 calories, 1g fat, and 15g carbs each.

and then I'll eat one meal usually lunch or dinner consisting of tuna, chicken or turkey, plus veggies or sliced tomatos.

I calculated I went from an average of 2500-3000 calories a day to right around ~1200 a day, and I feel more energetic now then before.

--------------------------------

I haven't seen too much of a weight drop, maybe 1 or two pounds, but I feel much better, and have a much better sleep schedule.

This week I'm going to add in exercise (and increase my daily calories), Right now I walk a decent amount in my daily life, but its no where near enough to consider a workout.

Going to start out with running cardio and light weights, I'm not going for super fast amazing results because I know that shit just doesn't work, so I'm going for a lifestyle I can live for the rest of my life.

Anyone wanna join in?

BTW I'm 22 years old, 5'9 and 253lbs.

I'll update this thread every 15 days with my progress.

we had a competition every 3 months for a bit over a year, but less and less people joined and it became a pain in the ass to maintain + the forums got spammed to fuck. if anyone wants a snap at directing it i'll hand over the domain.

It's a cliche saying, but ever so true: "you are what you eat."

Eating right + a little exercise goes a LONG way. I've seen it transform friends right before my eyes. Good luck with your goals!

All these responses and no one tells this guy he's eating far too few calories now?

1200 cals a day is basically starving yourself. Your body goes into starvation mode and you end up with a low metabolism and possibly other health problems.

I don't think what you're doing now is healthy at all.

I've upped my calorie intake to 2000 a day. (starting to workout)

And its not really starving myself since I only need ~2000 to maintain my current body weight, its only a 800 calorie deficit, and I get pliantly of protein, veggies and a good multi vitamin.

I'm having 3 very filling shakes a day and a meal, I'm never hungry, but it is more difficult to eat 2000c a day when its not junk food. I'm probably eating more then I was before.

Good luck dude. I lost 15lbs recently after going vegan in less than 2 months, feel so much better it's like night and day. Diet is huge. Just stick to it, don't pussy out in a few week's time.

I lost like 40 pounds in 3 months. 2k Calories a day is alright, 1.2k is to little. Make sure you get some cardio in there. I ran 2+ hours a day, to lose my weight.

Edit: Pro tip - Lose weight slowly not like how I did it. And LIFT weights or you going to be skinny-fat. Losing to much weight to quickly probably means your going to burn a shit ton of muscle, something you probably don't want to do.

Awesome man, people dont realize how eating good makes you feel 100x better. I have mentioned it a few times before on here, but t-nation.com is the best weight training site online IMO, check it out if you want to get more serious with the weights.

Either way congrats man.

That really depends on your activity level

He has to create a calorie deficiency to burn fat. He's most likely not very active and 1200 calls isn't low enough to send him into "starvation mode".

yes it does work.. with the right lifestyle change.

If you're making a big change in your life now is NOT the time to hold back.

You can get addicted to drinking 3 shakes a day and some light cardio and think you made a Giant change in your life or you can push yourself and get addicted to hitting the gym with intensity 5-6 days a week and half an hour of cardio daily, eat your weight in protein daily, keep your intake calories less than your putting in with 6-7 meals throughout the day(can include a couple protein shakes). You'll lose a pound or 2 a week and in a couple months you wont be recognizable. You will have a made an amazing transformation that you now just need to maintain or take to the next level your choice.

Just remember 1-2 hours of pain for a whole lifetime of pride

You'd be surprised how many cals you burn sitting on a chair all day and sleeping at night. 1200 is probably way too low to start a diet with, especially because you'd like to reduce your calories even further later on in your diet or else you'll plateau. I think it's a large quick reduction in your calories that will push your body into starvation mode.

But I'm only as good as the info I've heard .. so I could always be wrong.

u don't need that much protein. 3 shakes. that's all a myth. there are vegan nfl players with more muscle than 7 WF'ers put together. reduce animal products in your diet where you can. eat whole grains ONLY. nothing refined. no sugars if possible. and your body and health will change.

and you won't need to count calories because the reduction will be inevitable.

but more importantly, your body's response to food will change.

^^ Good advice.

Think of it like this- Your body has momentum, all your momentum has been a full speed oil tanker to fat fuck island. You have to first slow down the oil tanker then reverse its direction, wont happen over night but you are making great progress. Keep it up.

I think we kind of discussed this in PM's, but I went vegan and got really sick once. I have a friend who is vegan and he gets sick like once a month. Personally, I think vegan is no bueno. Our bodies need animal fat.
