Penguin 2.0 Incoming!

This is going to be interesting, we've been a little overdue for a Penguin update. While I will shed a few tears for the spam sites I'll most certainly lose a little earlier than I was expecting, if this update is anything like Penguin 1, I can't wait for 3-4 weeks after it hits when someone figures out the new spam methods that will keep me fed til Penguin 3.

Telling people a new Penguin is coming is probably the most effective anti spam technique Matt Cutts has ever done. Mistiming your spam blasts a week or two before a major update is pretty much the only way to lose money spamming, so the news of an upcoming update is far scarier than the actual update itself. If Matt was smart he'd constantly say that they're about to roll out a massive Penguin update 'next week' and then never do it... make us live in fear.

SEO is dead. Long live SEO.

Back to spam? HAHAHA!!!!

If you mean everyone continues with spam then I think you're wrong. Many changed their attitudes.

If you mean you spam with success then I wish you all the best.

I will however copy and paste your post twice for every tear you will drop in thread called "Penguin 2.0 victims" if Matt outsmarts you in few weeks.

I'm not really worried about it, at the moment I have only one website that I'm concerned about and other then doing a press release last month I haven't done any off site link building close to a year, I write the content my self, its unique and informative. Could the site get hit? Its possible but I think what they'll go after is new methods of link building that people are abusing and since I haven't utilized those methods I'm not overly concerned. I would rather get it over with now and move on though.

This is the honest truth for how much of Wickedfire's "SEOs" operate. I won't exclude myself from that.

You're a little off with this thinking. I won't disclose exactly why because I didn't independently discover it myself, and if I say why, the Wickedfire cock gobblers will harass me for outing. Hint - think about time frame/collection of data/etc. This isn't Ramen Noodles.

^ This.

This is what happens when we quit top list sites and link exchanges and rely 90% on google. It's time we go back to good old link exchange which would give us 50% guaranteed traffic no matter what.

I'm moving all of my sites over to Bing until this blows over, I suggest anyone who gives a shit about their properties do the same.

SEOmoz Labs has an easy transfer tool here, it's in beta (of course), but it's still pretty useful if you don't want to deal with all the bullshit that happens when G releases an update, and would rather watch from the sidelines until the dust settles.

I'm un-301'ing all of my linked up domains until this blows over...I suggest ya'll do the same.

I'm am sacrificing several goats as an offering to Google in the hope my sites are spared. I suggest you all do the same.

I'm sending a bunch of flowers with listening device to Matt Cutts. I suggest you all do the same.
