They're not after money.
Its annoying when people criticise these types of protests by bringing it back to themselves. "IVE got money and definitely have a job/make millions from my basement, so they should just shuddup and go make money!"
Theyre complaining about the inherent unfairness of taxpayers money being given to basically overpaid bureaucrats in banks who gambled other peoples money then said fuck you we'll take your tax dollars/pounds/euros when their business model failed. If your business fails - do you get bailed out?
Also the fact that the CEO (again not a risk taking entrepreneur, just a skilled administrator brought in to run things) are now paid 1000x what the average employee gets, rather than just 50x or 100x 25 years ago.
If you think these "lazy" people are complaining about wanting money (?) then you are wilfully misinterpreting or just have to relate everything back to how you make money rather than the issue.
Pixel,
I myself am merely an 18 year old student. I don't have any money to speak of (teaching myself to copywrite etc). I literally earn less than 100 pounds a month (probably about 200-250 dollars). While I live with my mum, I barely take any money from her:
-She's redundant, learning to become a teacher
-I live in clothes that don't even fit me anymore
-I have shoes with holes in.
-I leave my hair to get cut once a month, if not two usually.
In essence, if I were to look at it logically, I am really one of the poorest people I know. I struggle even to find money for college stuff.
However, I don't moan about these things. I don't blame people for the money they make. I understand that the government, etc do take advantage of people, but sitting around in circles and protesting won't change much. I heard of a story of two college students taking the government to court because of rising uni fees.
THAT is doing something. I will struggle for the next few months, and happily do so, purely because I want something: I want to be wealthy, and I want to be a fantastic copywriter, one of the greats.
However, it takes work to do that, and effort, and I don't mind living like a homeless person until that works out for me. If I have to survive looking like shit, and being completely limited, then so be it.
I will come out on top, and without any complaining, charity, or moaning. To me, that is more important than most things. To give myself independence and to be completely responsible for my own situation and my own future is freeing beyond belief.
