Perry Facializes Obama In New Video

Who the fuck cares that the DOW peaked. So did fucking real estate, you want to take credit for that too? Given the massive corrections and the carnage that happened after, you're saying bubbles are good then?

We lost jobs, the stock market ended way down, we spent trillions balling out banks and starting a war on faulty intelligence (costing thousands of US lives), gas prices went through the roof, as did the costs of health care and education, he didn't get Osama.... I could go on all day. And your rebuttal for why George Bush was an ok president was that the DOW peaked?

Apparently Bill Clinton was the greatest president of all time because the NASDAQ went though the roof.

Unemployment was at 4 1/2 percent - What is it now? 2wice that. And the fact remains that Barney Frank and many DEMS were actually a much bigger part of the Housing Bubble...

Healthcare costs have only recently gone up in a major way, because of anticipation of Obama Care. And the cost of Education is always going up thanks to the Unions. And the wars that were started - guess who voted for them? Better do some research.

It went from around 3,500 to 10,500 in the Clinton years. With the bursting of the internet bubble, and With OSAMA and 9-11, at the beginning of Sept. 2001, it had already went down to about 8,500.

There I fixed that for ya -

Wouldn't want you to be embarrassed by a pesky historical fact. LOL Unbelievable.

Word.

I watch Bloomberg every morning and I still don't think that the Dow or any other wall street indicator tells a large part of the story for a president's success.

A president's job is to be a lot of very important things to a lot of different people.
  • He has to lead the military.
  • He has to watch after our foreign interests abroad.
  • He has to make sure the legislative and Judicial branches aren't trying to pull a fast one.
  • He has to determine how large of a part the government will play in citizens' lives.
  • He has to look after our Education system.
  • He has to look after our Environment. (Actually GWB did the best here!)
  • He has to look after a huge range of issues that we may not even know about.
  • And yes, he has to look out for the Domestic economy as well.

To hold up a period of the DOW's performance to point to a president's success in the whitehouse is like me holding up a copy of your dental records as a measure of your success as a human being! It's just a measure of your oral hygene, not your whole net worth.

Maybe you weren't old enough to be alive then, so I'll forgive you for the naivety. But we have yet to reach the level in the DOW that we reached w/ George Bush in office. And that's even after 9-11. We were on a straight upward trend until DEMS took control of the House and Congress. Just look at any Dow Chart, and line it up with the dates that Democrats did ANYTHING. It tells it's own story.

Our economy tanked in 2008, during W's final year mind you. It was due to the subprime mortgage crisis, toxic assets, and investments into those false assets, not which party was in office at the time. Democrats and republicans were both vested in the companies and banks that caused the bubble.

You THINK the red/blue parties are that ideologically different and are the cause and solutions to ubiquitous problems, and you believe that because you're stupid. They all bow down to the same rulers; the federal reserve, mega corps, the 1% elite, and anyone else who fills their pockets.

It was around 12,000 when the dems won the elections for control of congress in 2006, about a year later it was nearly 14,000, then the drop started.

I'm not arguing that democrats are any better for the DOW, but that blame or praise for losses and gains towards a particular party (or president) is nearly always exaggerated.

Market Gains by President/Congressional Party - The Big Picture

While I'm glad you took the time to dig up the data, its such an asinine argument to start with that its hard to even take it seriously.

That would be true, if it didn't outline the rest of the argument - which is, that unemployment is also twice as high - actually about 4 times as high if you're counting those that have just dropped off of the unemployment charts. And his economic policies are fucking this place up. And there's not a sane person that can observe what is going on in our Country and still deny that. The only time we have good days in the market are when Obama, Tim Geithner, and the DEMS are fucking quiet, or the only sound they make is to pass along a benefit George Bush put into play.

What fucking misinformed planet are you from? This has gone into the absurd.

I guess the one that has the Congressional Budget Office? That's still Earth right? LOL Can't believe the amount of dumbasses on here today...

This is the most epic part of this thread.

Whether one of them makes a neat ad about the other or not, these are battles between oligarchical factions that will order you to die in a fire before they invite you to their house for dinner.

It's all Obama's fault, lol.

The BEGINNING of September, as in before 9/11.

I was looking at :
^DJI Historical Prices | Dow Jones Industrial Average Stock - Yahoo! Finance

According to that it would appear to have been at 8235 the week before 9/11, as it was shut down for a week after 9/11. Now it had gone down 400 from 9/5 to 9/10, but it was actually at 9600 on 9/10. Being shut down for a week is probably messing up the yahoo weekly average feature.

I guess the one that has the Congressional Budget Office? That's still Earth right? LOL Can't believe the amount of dumbasses on here today...

Those are costs covered by a new piece of legislation, not total health care costs.

There are rumors that Perry is gay, and so the topic of this thread is appropriate.

He's gotta be extremely blackmailable if he has any possibility of winning so I suppose there's a good chance he is.

I still can't understand why an enlightened man like HB is supporting a professional politician, liar and liberal.

Came here to ask this. HB wtf man? All the shit you spew and you support Perry of all people?

So a cost covered by legislation is not a cost? LOL You do know that the legislation you're talking about is the Health Care Bill right? - I'll leave that picture there for ya...

Here's the Dow - Notice the High that we've never again hit in 2007?

That high was due to the market buying investment packages and products of the bunk mortgages which had absolutely no value. It wasn't an accomplishment of the republican party in any way, or an accomplishment at all.

Health care costs can triple tomorrow, that doesn't change the fact that they have already gone up in a major way in the past.

Those numbers are from the CBO, and also according to them the health care bill is going to save us money overall by making the system more efficient, blah, blah, blah.

Ever heard of baby boomers?

When it's been going up by less than a percentage point of gdp per year and then recently jumps by 5%, I think I can safely say that it has recently gone up in a major way.

Check your sources. The newest numbers on cms.gov are 16.6% of GDP for 2008 and 17.6% of GDP for 2009.

For 2010 the full numbers must not be available yet, but they are estimating zero increase due in part to "declines in employment."

They project 19.8% of GDP for 2020.
