Picked Up a Mechanical Keyboard "Das Keyboard"

As usual, Apple make the best quality low-profile silent keyboards out of aluminium. Sick to death of plastic bullshit. I use one with my Windows PC.

Just watched that video, and holy shit, that thing would get pitched over the patio and turned into a dog chew toy within about 10 mins.

How am I supposed to enjoy the U2, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Bob Marley, John Lennon, or whatever concert I have playing in the background with that clicking noise?

Clicking noise > U2, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Bob Marley, John Lennon

I don't get it. But wont fight it

Going to start a website with extra loud pencil sharpeners people will go nuts and all for only 4 payments of $19.99.

This looks really cool. But it's not A-shaped :( I am so much into this A-shaped keyboard I am using right now, nothing else fits my fingers!

I have a Cherry keyboard and a Razer Blackwidow which uses Cherry switches.
I could never go back to a non-mechanical keyboard.
These babies actually improve your typing speed, accuracy and thus - productivity.
Plus they sound sexy too.

I too rock a mechanical keyboard, Cherry Brown switches, it really isn't THAT loud. And it feels great. Haters going to hate. If you try one you'll probably like it.

I got a few filco's 2 camo majestouch 2's one with blacks and one with blues, then I have a filco ninja with reds.

I love the reds, lighter than blues without the double clicky feel (I find it annoying sometimes). I got a couple of friends some Das Keyboards though and they love them, the shiny design is fucking annoying though.

I have an old fujitsu mechanical keyboard that I grabbed 5 years ago when the university I was attending threw it out. Love the thing, but it does look strange having one single piece of yellowed plastic shit next to all of the other shiny components that make up my workstation.

Didn't they spend years developing keyboard that didn't make that sound?

I remember getting bitched at constantly by the GF because my old keyboards made the exact same sounds and they didn't cost $100

Maybe I'm missing something here...but this keyboard sounds like an old keyboard from the Commodore 64 days. I could see this being useful for phone reps since customers usually like to hear the sound of a keyboard clacking away. Makes em feel like the rep is doing something important.
