Almost out of beta, but was wondering if anyone is playing this game right now? If so, hit me up ingame: East Terran Republic "LordRamsayBolton"

For those unfamiliar, Planetside 2 is a MMOFPS, best way to describe it is like Battlefield, except on a much more massive scale. The game features multiple continents that will each hold hundreds if not thousands of players on a single battlefield. 3 different factions each with their own playstyle (for example, high rate of fire versus no bullet drop), multiple classes, multiple vehicles, and tons of customization options you unlock by playing the game. Best of all, it's gonna be free to play. Check it out if you're into FPS's.
 


I know guerilla and I think ly2 have been playing this some. I think I'll give it a go.
 
I like PS2 a lot. Ly2 doesn't play much because he has taken up gold panning.

I play on Thebe (West). I have TR, NC and VS chars, but I play TR almost exclusively.

Character wipe on the 20th when the game comes out of beta, so maybe we can hook up after that with our new characters.
 
If we hookup, I will be on whatever server The Enclave play on. Right now, they are on Thebe.

Anyone curious about PS2, this is BuzzCut the best player in the game. He runs The Enclave. They stream 5 days a week on Twitch. Fast forward to 30:00 in to see what a typical base assault by an organized unit looks like.

I was looking at The Enclave, but they are a pretty big zerg outfit, not sure how I feel about them. I have a friend who plays with Rival Gaming and TRay, hoping to play with them but they have really high standards so dunno.
 
TE typically doesn't zerg. They run 12 man squads (Daggers) and usually fight multiple fronts at once. So yeah, they do have 70+ guys on most days, they are usually fighting at 3 or 4 locations at a time.

It doesn't have the metagame depth of Eve. No economy. There aren't the sense of consequences you have in Eve.

But it has the sense of scale and the graphics are insanely good.

It's just fun to play, although Ly2 says I say that because this is my first FPS.
 
I struggle to fly air, I am unable to dogfight, but I love playing heavy assault and infiltrator. I play those 90% of the time. The rest Engie and in a Max suit.

Tanks get boring for me.
 
I remember playing the first one and had a blast. Love playing games with like 50vs50. Halo would be awesome like that but obviously on xbox it won't happen.

Anyone ever play Infantry Online? Man that game was bad ass back in the day. That was fun as hell with like 100vs100
 
PS1 was pretty cool, but it gets pretty boring fast. Reason why is because there is no real sense of progression. It's like playing battlefield online with a game that never really ends.

Another problem with PS1 was it didn't feel like a real FPS because of all the lag and hit registration problems of having that many people playing at once. Hopefully it isn't that bad for this one.

Has anything changed compared to PS1? Or is it basically the same with better graphics?
 
Better netcode, better graphics. It's free to play, so everyone will be able to check it out on Nov 20.
 
Ah, I was wonder the impression TE had over a thousand members.

I mostly play only Heavy Assault or Medic, depending on the situation. I also love flying the Lib, but the tail gun seems so shitty. I spent all my certs on infantry stuff, do you know if there's a better tailgun for it?
