Preview of Windows 8

Yeah baby, finally an OS with fancy graphics and touch screen. Remember the movie "Hackers" featuring Jolie's supple titties? The OS with flying graphics is coming to fruition.

I'm using Win7 but I wish I could use Windows XP; doesn't support 64bit or my 8Gb ram.

XP is simple and not bloated like 7. I fucking hate Windows 7 with a passion..

I own a Windows Phone which has the tile interface, it is a radical change and I would never go back to an iPhone which feels antiquated after using Windows Phone.

Windows 8 will feature a similar interface, but it is just over the top of a full desktop OS.

Didn't we have this thread already back in July?

Windows 8 is going to have a HELL of a learning curve. Many people won't migrate from 7 to 8, ever, because it's nothing like what they already know.

But it does look great for what it is... I just don't know if they can make a smooth transition.

...Oh yeah, and don't forget about the Even-Numbered-release curse that both Windows Releases and Star Trek Movies suffer from. (!)

I'm a fucking retard
Watch your words carefully yucky; some people around here might be tempted to Sig a pretty quote like this one...

Anyone who has a 360 or a Windows Phone will be somewhat used to the metro interface because they are switching to it in the fall(ish). Hopefully, it looks like MS is going to come out swinging with Windows 8 once they get their slates/tablets coming out. They have been sleeping for awhile, should have learned a thing or two by now.

Resource hungry, crashes pretty often. XP was much better.

I've been using 7 a year before it officially launched and I never had a crash to this day (and I use it for every purpose imaginable: graphic design, video work, gaming, etc..), and it seems a hell of a lot faster than vista + improved on the areas that XP lacked (like installing hardware drivers, recognizing new hardware, etc..)

You're the first person I've heard that claims it's resource hungry and crashes often.

Knock yourself out. I'll still own you in any debate, about any subject, at any time, with half my brain tied behind my back. Not that that's saying much of course...
Dude, take a chill pill. I was just offering a friendly warning; it wasn't a threat nor a challenge...

That looks shit; I'm still rocking Vista. Even then, I preferred XP. I moved up to Vista out of necessity rather than choice.
LOL; vista!

You just can't imagine how much better 7 is over vista... It's like the difference between a 1960 VW bug from a junkyard & a new BMW.

To anyone saying that 7 is buggy, slow, or is able to crash at all for them; Simply reload that bastard... That's NOT normal.

I'm sticking with 7 until the day 9 comes out. 8's going to be a pretty mess.

I too have never had a crash with Windows 7. I can't believe anybody would choose XP over 7, it's inconceivable. Luddites I tell ya.

What he said ^^^ Haven't had any major issues. I upgraded from XP and I would never think of going back.

XP is far superior than Windows 7. Having said that, I still prefer Linux and Mac OS.

You cited an article from January 1st, 2009 about people using Win7 beta. Some of the points, like the first one about there being no "run" command in the start menu, aren't even valid since there is a run command in the start menu now. Just about every other point is moot because the OS can be configured to work exactly how you want it to, which the author clearly states. You can make it look and function just like XP if you prefer... though I'm not sure why you would want to. So tell us why you think XP is superior?
