No, but look at what Obama did back in 2008. He was being labelled as an elitist, so he chose the most down to earth, cut throat, blue collar guy who you could find as VP -- Biden. And it worked great.
Now Romney is getting classed as a rich, pretentious snob, so he picks another rich, pretentious snob as a VP. Not going to work.
there are two ideological fronts within the republican arena; one is bible-thumping (think oral roberts) while the other is personal rights/freedoms (think ayn rand).
bush was an extreme conservative (in the religious vein) reaction to clinton's indiscretions because he seemed straightforward. obama is an extreme liberal reaction to bush's stupidity because he seemed well-spoken. whether it happens now or in 2016, the next pendulum swing is to the conservative side. be thankful paul ryan is an 'ayn rand' conservative rather than a jesus freak.

Yeah 2016 will be a lot more interesting...I still don't think the republicans will be able to find someone to get the majority of votes though. The younger democrats don't look much better really, but some of the republicans that get mentioned with "2016 possibilities" are completely out of touch with most people's lives a la romney or bachman etc...at least the democrats pander to the true majority (whatever beef you have, most americans right now are struggling and will be for years IMO)...whoever is behind the marketing for "joe republican" these days is doing a really bad job. most independents seem to hate romney more than obama

Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Nevada, Iowa, and New Hampshire will decide it. Romney needs 6 of the 8 to have a shot, by right now how he's losing every one.
And now with Ryan's plan gutting Medicare, Florida and Pennsylvania will be all that much harder.

Well first off, Bush and Obama have been very similar in many ways, and no two politicians are really polar opposites of each other, but your take on Ryan doesn't go along with his record.
Ryan voted to ban stem cell research, whereas Bush was the first to fund it. Ryan voted for warrantless wiretapping, the Patriot Act, etc.

The republican party is ALREADY dead. Just a few parasites left at the top like Boehner & Prince Regus trying to maintain airs, but even that is just a short-term con job because the powers that be need some republican to run against and lose to obomba.

You can't. You'd be judging just by the warmth of mom's womb or the availability of nutrients through mom's umbilical cord... You just don't have enough information yet.

We who have escaped that evil circle are lucky. Either we were really smart and could reason it out for ourselves, or someone who cared shared that information with us, and we were just smart enough to listen to them.
Not everyone is smart enough to see the problems with the picture TPTB have drawn... But that doesn't mean they deserve an authoritarian, 1984 existence and end up in FEMA camps.
