Also, I made over 150k last year and I will tell you this, it is not my responsibility to pay healthcare for someone who made 20k. you try and take what I worked my ass off for and you will meet my guns! I think they should set healthcare systems up like a reward system. The less you use it the more rewarded you are. I had this with a former company I worked for. Basicially I had a 2K allowance for all my small medical bills per year. And the amount left over would roll over into the next year. I could pay doctors bills, prescriptions, whatever with this amount. Basically it kept people from going to the doctor everytime they had a freakin cold asking antibotics or something silly like that. However there was the"catastropic insurance" benefit that if I needed to be hospitilized or whatever that my 2K would go directly to that, I would have to pay out of pocket like 2K more and then they covered the rest. So lets re exam this. If I maintained a healthy life style and conserved my benifits I was rewarded, but even if I got really sick, which can happen to anyone I was covered with very little out of pocket for me (in the scheme of things).

I wish the government would consider something like this.

Private health insurance and private institutions are different.

If you go into St. Lukes with a terminal disease or critically, they aren't going to kick out if you only make 18k a year. They take you in and figure out the details later. Many of these hospitals are run from donations from wealthy people who wouldn't be so wealthy if all their money went to government.

EDIT: I saw you added to your post. Did you even read my post? Cancer would have been covered under catastrophic. So for the year you went through treatment you would have paid out of your own pocket 2K. (heath insurance would have covered the 300K extra or whatever) are you whining about that number?

I only earn money for security reasons, i rarely spend it.

You're not taking into account that women overall cost more than men. Not every woman wants to drink a bottle of schnapps and pop one out on the couch to save a few dollars. Nor do they want to skip doctors appointments in the first few years of their childs life.
