Shark Tank is back!

If the college kid is wise that coat business will shoot through the roof.

The coat check thing? No, sorry, but can't see it. I can just picture my mom trying to check-in a coat with that thing. It'd probably take her 15 mins, staff would have to come around to help her, and by the end she'd be so pissed off she'd never visit that establishment again. Not to mention, during that time she's holding everyone else up, pissing them all off. :)

Then for the technology itself, I don't know... doubt it. It's not like inventory control via QR codes is a technological breakthrough.

Surfing

Great idea. It's obviously a fucking big market and people are always looking for gimmicky ways to exercise. It looks fun and it has a great image attaching itself to the "surfer's body."

The couple look smart / hardworking and it could really go places with Mark's involving. Great deal for everyone.

Alpha M Style

Quite a niche marketing with the way he wants to monetize. I'm not sure how many guys are willing to pay $300 for a DVD set to teach them how to style. I'm thinking this guy could make more bank starting a membership site. Just not enough $ potential for the sharks and the DVDs aren't a great idea. The guy's a great presenter though.

Ice Cream

Great idea. Guys spend $80 on flowers and customized ice cream doesn't seem like a bad bet. Yea they definitely need to get rid of the Ice Cream Parlor because it's just wasting their time/energy/money compared to their online business.

The main issue for the sharks is there's a fucking unknown investor who has more shares / power than they do. Very very bad idea because you don't know who the guy is or how much of an idiot he is.

iPhone Cheaters App

I really don't like this guy. Dude was so fucking weird & awkward. On top of that he didn't even program the app himself. The iPhone / BB versions aren't even out yet.

I give the guy props though for pushing the edge when it came to negotiations.

I'm sure 25 guys saw the episode and are programming their own version right now.

I think the cheaters angle is fine, but they should take that code and make different versions of the app. A "Cheaters" version, a general "privacy" version, etc.

I'm surprised the two sharks jumped on the cheaters app to be honest, I guess the guy who knows the owner of the cheating website (ashley madison?) must think he can leverage that connection to at least make his money back and look to turn it into a more privacy direction.

I thought the surfing idea was great, if they can get their costs down then they can sell the units, license the instructions and once it starts going more mainstream they can sell the unit direct to the customer with a shitty DVD to fat people who will add it to their ab burner collection. They should have pushed a little harder to get a better deal, all the sharks wanted in so why didn't they try to leverage that? I think they got intimidated by the exploding offer cuban gave them, but in reality he is always going to jump back into the ring if he thinks he can make money from it.

Alpha M guy will do well, agreed that the DVD model is retarded though. Aint nobody spending $300, try to get some recurring billing going and the ugly bastards that buy this shit will definitely forget to cancel it.

I thought the ice cream idea was retarded to be honest, I don't know where you retards buy flowers but it definitely doesn't cost $80.

If it becomes a complicated process they have done it wrong. However, if they've done it right - it's easy peasy to operate and a huge time saver. :)

Oh, kick ass, they're uploaded now. If anyone wants:

Too bad it's morning my time. These will have to wait until tonight.

All I was thinking with the AlphaM guy is that he should make those DVDs into eBooks and team up with some affiliates in the PUA niche and position himself as a style guru.

The Cheater App is a solid idea. Just needs rebranded BIG TIME (I mean CATE? What kind of a name is that?) And Kevin having the connection with Ashley Madison it makes a ton of sense. Although the fact that he didn't program the app is kinda weird, but it sounds like they cut most of that story out.

I'm not too sure about the Ice Cream idea. I mean, sure its novel and is more about the experience, but I can't see people wanting to pay as much in shipping as the actual product itself. I guess I don't trust that they can ship it as easily as they do without trouble.

Surfing biz is a great idea. Like Dr Ngo said everyone is looking for a new gimmick to get them to exercise and they seem pretty smart.

I'm thinking O'leary's best bet would've been to

- Pay a programmer $5k to make his own version of the app for android/iPhone
- Co-brand it with Ashley Madison. Make it the official Ashley Madison cheating iPhone app.

The kid can't program, he contributes virtually nothing.

These guys know literally nothing about bootstrapping mobile development, he would have ended up spending $100k on an app and having to do everything himself.

Still, I've got no idea why ash mad would be interested in this when they could do it themselves.

True. Good points. I mean like I said that whole segment was edited weird so I dunno what happened.

Cuban's the only one out of them that really seems to have any clue about what to do with the tech field. (None of them had a clue what SEO was before and he let them all drop out before bidding last season.) I almost wonder if Cuban faked interest in the beginning to get them thinking okay this must be a smart deal to get in.

But if Kevin had those connections to Ashley Madison or whoever, he might see this as a low risk, high reward investment.
