Cheater App -- Clever idea, too bad it wasn't his idea. That, and he's an idiot for going on national TV with it. Loads of people could have a similar app developed in 48 hours, and guaranteed many of them have better marketing skills / connections than that guy. Should have stayed under the radar, and quietly contacted people to help him market it. He's not going to see a penny from that thing now, because next week his $4.99 app will be heavily marketed with a new name for $0.99.
I liked the ice cream idea, but they definitely need to focus on high paying markets like Manhatten and LA to begin with. Shipping across the US can't be profitable. Just limit it to those 90% of rich people who either live in California or New York.
I'm thinking O'leary's best bet would've been to
- Pay a programmer $5k to make his own version of the app for android/iPhone
- Co-brand it with Ashley Madison. Make it the official Ashley Madison cheating iPhone app.
The kid can't program, he contributes virtually nothing.

Something tells me that the entrepreneurs can do a little more homework and work out a better deal with a private firm.
Cant...stop...watching...this show. Still on Season 1, but it's freaking awesome. I don't know much about VC or startups, but it seems that the sharks are pretty formulaic in the way they choose to make their offers. They usually want 50%-51% of every company they're interested in. Something tells me that the entrepreneurs can do a little more homework and work out a better deal with a private firm.
Damn nice!
I think I've mentioned it here a few times but I've always been interested in coming up with an algorithm that accurately predicts future trends based on a variety of metrics.
