'Silk Road 2.0' Launches, Promising A Resurrected Black Market For The Dark Web - Forbes

On Wednesday morning, Silk Road 2.0 came online, promising a new and slightly improved version of the anonymous black market for drugs and other contraband that the Department of Justice shut down just over a month before.

It’s even being administered by a new manager using the handle the Dread Pirate Roberts, the same pseudonym adopted by the previous owner and manager of the Silk Road, allegedly the 29-year-old Ross Ulbricht arrested by the FBI in San Francisco on October 2nd

he Silk Road sequel experienced some hiccups coming online–it had planned to launch at 4:20pm on November 5th, a significant time and date for an anarchic drug site. But that launch was delayed for 24 hours, and even now the new Silk Road 2.0 isn’t fully operational–its administrators say they’re still gauging the site’s traffic load before they start accepting orders later this week.

Read this on CNBC this morning...

Does anyone actually know how to access this thing? I'm retarded, but I want to get on there at least once to see what it's all about...

All I can find is something called http://silkroad6ownowfk.onion/

silkroad6ownowfk.onion is what's listed on the reddit sub, so probably accurate.

will be interesting to see how this does. Seems like a lot of the sellers on the old site just opened up private shops for established customers + half a dozen alternative markets opened up the week after the original went down.

Yea, but that doesn't lead to any page...

yeh, you have to use tor.

Yea, just discovered and downloading this Tor thing right now.

I was typing it in as a URL - i'm just that smart...

edit: yeh, you might want to read up on it before you go browsing around on the actual site. And use some common sense if you do sign up like not using a familiar screen name and what not.

Yea, starting to regret the last 10 minutes of my life...this looks like the kinda stuff I can get excited about.

Oh well, At least I can say i've done it.

If you insist on doing things that are no ones business but your own, but that the government likes to murder/imprison you over, I suggest second-system this shit from a location you don't own nor otherwise frequent.

If you're going to travel down the Rabbit Hole, buy a computer you wouldn't mind throwing in the ocean.

Get a dedicated computer.
Install Xubuntu.
Encrypt the whole drive.
Get a VPN.
Use TOR Browser on top of your VPN.
Never use your computer for anything else.

Or don't. Whatever.
