I imagine as an SEO employee you can pull the same kinds of things these SEO firms do,

"I now have you ranking #1 on google now, just do a search for 'colostomy bags in northern michigan'" Now you will need to pay me $10,000 a month so I can work really hard to keep your #1 ranking on Google."

LOL!! I wish! If that were the case, then our department would be rich! Unfortunately, all that anybody cares about is the primary keyword and maybe a highly searched secondary.

We can brag around here, because we have over 40 sites that are number one for their primary keyword in either the singular or plural form, and at least half are number one for both forms.

Kaveman no offense dude but when I think of a job and the position it holds, I usually think the person who take the position has at least 20% extensive knowledge of that field.

You seem to nowhere reach that number. Sorry dude.

suck my balls, you dont even know the job description

shittaker, sitemaker what ever your name is, the world is full of people who had a set of balls and went after a job they had no business getting. They were smart enough to figure enough out to stay ahead of the curve and eventually be leaders in there business. those people are risk takers and drive invention and progress. You are not one of them!
shouldn't you be doing your homework?

I couldn't agree more with Chris... there's no faster way to learn than to jump right in.

Also, an employer doesn't qualify you, YOU qualify you. You'd be surprised how difficult it is to find talent in our industry. If you can show your intuition and eagerness to learn, you are that much closer to landing the position.

Agreed, go in with confidence and be careful about the bullshitting. A lot of employers will ask stupid ass questions to see if you will bullshit or not (I do this too). Look them in the eye and firm handshake like mentioned above.

promising employee owns experience any day of the week. In my industry I would rather hire someone with no direct experience so that I can train them to do things the way I want them too. Good luck bud.

muchas gracias for the support guys, sitefucker, again suck my balls. The job description doesnt seem to hard, mostly writing new content with seo in mind and maybe some linkbait ideas, i also have to redo the link structure i noticed cause its ugly. This is just a temp job for a local merchant trying to boost online sales. Again the most important thing to remember is that sitefucker can't rap and is ugly.

muchas gracias for the support guys

you might get support from these internet peoples, but good luck trying to buy 1 noodle on the money your gonna make!

haha!

As someone who both has a job in the industry and does my own online stuff I would employ people who do their own stuff EVERY time.

Good luck with your interview. Remember that if you have had a few SEO successes with ranking for keytwords for your own sites then let them know in the interview. A track record always helps.

yeah i heard ranking for "kaveman has a very small dick and rapes monkeys like chrislingie" is a very lucrative key term.

Its not just writing articles, and its a chick, something im sure you know little about

LOL.

The girls I know don't really know much about computers (they aren't fat emo chicks writing on those Myspace blogs, much like your boss might be).

But whatever man! If you can find a compatible female in life, such as one that sucks at SEO and computers (and life in general like yourself) then yeah go ahead with it man.
