So, oil fracking is actually pretty damn terrible

I get tired of these oil debates. My Facebook feed is always full of them, because I come from an oil patch town / background, and sure enough, most of my high school buddies and all of my family ended up in the patch. How can you not? Look at how good the money is, especially if you get yourself a nice white collar job in the office doing international assignments.

Know what I wish though? They would quit with their constant bullshit arguments about how fracking is safe, or how environmentally friendly the Alberta tar sands are due to the highest standard world wide, etc. I mean, at least just admit, "I make 5 times more than I could elsewhere, and I love my life and home, so fuck you, and fuck the environment". At least that would be an honest answer, instead of this bullshit of trying to defend how environmentally friendly the oil companies are.

For a bit of a laugh... want to know what happens on an offshore oil platform off the coast of Malaysia when a fire breaks out? Everyone locks themselves into the room, and prays to Allah. Haha, true story too. Supervisor had no idea what to do, because all the workers were too scared to come out of their rooms.

Your super amazing Nuclear reprocessing reduces the volume of high-level radioactive waste, but does not reduce radioactivity or heat generation and therefore does not eliminate the need for a geological waste management .

Where do we store the radioactive byproducts?

Are you saying this awesome reprocessing turns nuclear shit into golden Magic dust without any radioavtivity?

Your claim of dangers being "extraordinarily low" is not comforting enough for me to risk the future of my children.

If backwards looking people like you would pull their heads out of yer arse we could finally stop giving tax breaks to oil companies and instead divert the dirty oil money in renewable r&d.

100 years ago we learned to fly a plane 20 meters.

Last year we fucking sent a multi-stage rover 100 of millions of miles to take selfies on Mars.

Magical shit doesn't happen overnight. Renewables won't become uber efficient and self reliant without significantly more governmental incentives and funding.

The point is.there is ZERO FUCKING RISK of radioactive waste.

Zero risk is better than some interweb genius who thinks "extraordinarily low" risk of catastrophe is somehow acceptable.

So tell me what we should do with the 8,000 people that are estimated to die from the nickel process that's vital to producing storage systems for green energy?

With reprocessing nuclear waste you end up with lowly radoactive remnants that is just about as dangerous as naturally occuring uranium. Yes it could be dangerous but the amount of energy produced by it is phenominal. Everything has risk to it, but you're only kidding yourself if all renewable energies are free of risk or deaths associated with the industrial processes needed to manufacture them.

At least do us all a favor and get educated about nuclear energy and nuclear reactors before running to argue about them on the internet.

Sorry but government incentives will not advance energy technology. It will never happen, government is controlled by large corporations.

Government incentives can affect large capex projects. Tesla Motors, for example, was/is sustained by tax credits and other govt. subsidies. Now, the other question is: do these govt. subsidies payoff? That is hard to say...
