See the red circles on the map above? Russian tanks, artillery and troops have crossed the border between Russia and Ukraine shown on the image below, took Novoazovsk and now fighting with Ukrainian army.

Here's a video of Ukrainian army fighting in Ilovaisk, holding the town down before reinforcements arrive.

I guess the invasion is official this time around.

What could anyone do if Russia annexes all of Ukraine in the following month?

You can't force a country with 3000 nukes, so what would happen, realistically?

Obama would 'call for' stuff, then hit the links.

Historically russians are pussies and will only attack weaker neighbors.

The only way to fight them is not to idle and kill as many invaders as possible, and keep killing as they're crossing the border.

Canada has been helping a lot by sending military equipment in the recent months, btw. So there are many things other countries could do to stop this without going into "nuclear" mode.

Those of your familiar with the situation and politics of this, how far do you think Russia will go? Are they intending to try and annex the entire country, or just the Southeast?

My reasons for asking are slightly self serving. I have several contractors in Ukraine and some applicants to my current posts from the area. Will Russia go as far as Dnepropetrovsk? Cherkasy? Kiev? Odessa? Am I correct in assuming that Kharkiv and Donetsk are as good as annexed already? I feel bad asking this, and obviously I plan to stick with all my current guys, but I'm a little hesitant to hire people who live in places that are about to become a warzone.

Is that video for real? That is a propaganda piece if I ever saw one. Just watch the body language of the participants. Guys smiling, and laughing as they're"plinking" around. It's interesting how you dont see any enemy, and no sense of urgency on any of the participants. Bottom line, I call Bullshit on that "Invasion" video. If indeed that's what it's supposed to be.

I was reading somewhere that the real reason is Crimea. Russia took control of it and now starting a war to make people forget while it can annex Crimea 100% bc whos paying attention to that now VS the war?

fuck .ru (p.s. dont hack me bros I love yall ruskies)

Video is real and Russian language news channel LifeNews has journalists embedded with the separatists in Ilovaisk. However, the local rebel commander has countered claims coming from Ukraine that there is some huge Russian force fighting for control of the town and the Ukrainian army has killed 200 soliders. Saying that his whole company including chefs and support only totals around 107 people.

I don't buy into any of the information coming out from either side. Information is always distorted, Ukraine news says forces are fighting over новоазовск while Russian TV says it's fully in rebel hands. Propganda pours out of both sides.

I'm Canadian, the U.S. could just follow our lead and let the Ukranians "borrow" a few F-22's and Abrams tanks.

I'd like to see how Putin and his coldwar tech conscript army would deal with that...
