At around 11:45 last night I got a call from some upset in individual.

Anyways , she asked me if I was the owner of one of my LP sites, and why I was taking a bunch of money out of her bank account. Being almost midnight I really couldn't think of a whole lot to tell her other than it was midnight and I can't talk to people that late, to call back today.

Have any of you had phone calls from upset people? I really don't know how she got my phone number in the first place, however I'm sure with enough will someone could do it (Although you'd think someone would figure out how to get ahold of the offer company if they were upset enough about it.)

So , today I'm making sure all my sites/identities are tied to a prepaid phone, and picking up a PObox so no one has my actual address any more.

Whois protection lasts for about 2 milliseconds if I email your registrar and demand the registrant email because they are infringing on my trademark or any similar legal claim.

Get a DID through a VOIP service and use that number for your contact. Set up your voicemail and messages are emailed to you. Sleep well.

Tell her to call the advertiser.

Im a bleeding heart so personally I would cut her a check for the money, as long as she was polite

The problem is, you're not actually responsible, but once you cut her a check, you are assuming some level of responsibility for the situation.

That needs to be handled very carefully.

I feel like I get more "stop charging my credit card!" comments and emails than I actually generate leads on one particular site. This concerns me.

As far as contact info, every domain I register I use my childhood phone number that has belonged to another family for several years. Highly recommended.

No chance I'd ever re-pay a person , it's not my problem , and doing it would be admitting guilt. It's not my fault the advertiser sucks, and I barely could know who the advertiser is , I've promoted knowingly 50-75 different rebill products, and who know how many backend/servicers they use.

I have disclaimers on the site anyway , guess I need to add more :D

its pretty funny, my dad, who is smart and owns a successful business and real estate. Bought 2 rebill products at 2 different times after i told all about acai blogs and told him never, ever to get a free trial product.

He bought wu-yi about 6 months ago, and i think he just got the acai for men. But he was able to cancel pretty easily for both.
