So what GUNS do you own? I'll start with a couple of mine.

by the way, that H&K might have already been found.......

H & K USP Compact .45 Auto 45 : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com

Not an awful price, either. You're going to fall in love with it the moment you fire it. I've played around with H&Ks for years but never got around to grabbing one up for myself until now. You hit the nail on the head when you said you can't go wrong with H&K. They're a few bucks more, on average, but worth every penny.

Yeah, I already fell in love with it by from the looks. And yes, a little more expensive but in firearms, especially, you get what you pay for.

I'd actually like to get into archery, I need to research the laws more though.. I'd love to be able to shoot it in the woods behind my house, no one lives back there for miles, though I have a mess of neighbors to the left n' right of my house.

Probably aren't laws for archery unless your neighbors are assholes and you are a horrible shot.

The moment I saw this thread title, I knew that there would be at least one fuckwit that would come in and bleed his vagina all over the place about how guns are evil. Sigh.

Anyway, I currently have a Ruger 9mm, a Remington 30-06, and a Mossberg 12 gauge that has been *ahem* tactically modified to a length that I'd rather not disclose here.

I carried a Ruger 9mm the entire time I was in the military and because I'd spent countless, COUNTLESS hours with it at the range and in tactical training exercises, I can pretty honestly say that I can anything the size of a gnat's ass or larger within 25 yards. What it lacks in punch, it makes up for in being a decently dependable and consistent weapon.

That's why I have it secured (with a trigger lock and no, I don't even have children) within half-arm's reach of my bed.

The rifle and shotgun are locked up in a gun locker in the closet. As a sentry, we also carried 18" barrel Mossberg 12 gauges as well and so I got pretty acclimated to that length. How it's been modified since then is...well...something only me and the poor asswipe that has the unfortunate brainfart to break into my house will know (provided I haven't already touched him twice center-mast and dotted his "i" just for good measure with the 9mm first).

The Remington 30-06 I've had for years. It's a great gun.

My present to myself in the next month or so will be an USP combat tactical H&K .45:

Great pistol - you'll like.

Me, am a big fan of Sig Sauer.

QFT. Just go and make yourself a bale out of a bunch of old clothes, rubber scraps, bales of paper bags, carpet, etc. You can bind it together with standard chicken wire if you'd like but you can also get some plastic stuff from Home Depot that shouldn't scratch the arrow shafts.

Obviously, the material you use will have to be packed TIGHTLY and depending on what type of arrow head you'll be practicing with is what kind of material you should go with.

I dunno where you are, but I live in the South so there's always a gun/hobby/hunting supplies shop within a stone's throw that'll have some old dude behind the counter that'll tell you "Well, this a'hear is whatchoo need ta do!"

Go hit them up for recommendations. Buy a bow from them and they'll tell you everything you need to know.

This thread gots me pumped!

Whats Americas obsession with guns? to compensate for small dicks or to feel more manly?

Because we like to have the option of protecting ourselves if necessary. Gun haters (liberals/socialist etc) will be the first to fall to a facist government or criminals because they are weak and fragile minded.

Interesting discussion on US vs. UK ... problem is that here in the US, criminals already own guns. So it's stupid not to own one yourself. You can possibly take most the guns off of the law abiding citizens, but you will never take them off the criminals - so where does that leave you?

Is there anyone who you disagree with and don't label a liberal/socialist?

My wife will not let me have a gun in the house, despite the fact that I've had my life threatened in detail several times. She points out that it is far more likely that the kids (and you have to know my kids) will get it and shoot themselves than it is for us to have to use it.

I am pretty much her bitch and do what she tells me as long as she's in the room.

Get a combination lock box, or a safe and you don't have to worry about the kids.

Who brings home the chedda, that should be your only argument...unless she does then your fucked.......
