So, when is Texas going to secede?

^except we're in the time of unions bro, not secessions. the NWO's plan is in motion. Euro. Amero... we're all heading towards a 1 world government.

Secession has happened many times through human history, I don't know why you would argue it is impossible when that is empirically not true.

If I had to make a bet, the earth will become a one world government far before it becomes a collection of say 1500 nations. Without question, globalization will overpower secession.

We have more national governments today than we had 100 years ago. In a world where every territory is under government, that can only mean that some states have split up.

Yes, resources like oil are more valuable than they were before.

We could go with the map from Revolution on NBC...

Viva la debajo del mar utopia!

Do you not live in Thailand? Couldn't you just as easily live in Bali or Costa Rica? As technology progresses, more and more people will be location independent. This is going to fundamentally change the way nations work.

Someone on here suggested this book:[ame=http://www.amazon.com/The-Sovereign-Individual-Transition-Information/dp/0684832720]The Sovereign Individual: Mastering the Transition to the Information Age: James Dale Davidson, William Rees-Mogg: 9780684832722: Amazon.com: Books[/ame]

I very much recommend reading it for a good perspective of the information age and globalization.

I'd take that bet. You're going to see large political groups fly apart over the next 20 years as they are all financially insolvent.

Then as someone mentioned, you've got the technological shift.

It's not in human nature to aggregate everything into one approach, and attempts to do so are ultimately irrational and unsuccessful.

That's why communism collapsed. Attempts at one world government have been tried before. For crissakes, the EU can't even get Europe straight without imploding financially and politically.

A lot I'm sure, but the amount of eligible voters is also trending in a way that doesn't bode well for the Republican party in its current form.

Sure, illegals or anchor babies, which are illegals as well. And all of their children, who are illegals as well. The plan was pretty simple: dilute Americans' vote by bringing in a bunch of illiterate peasants from foreign dictatorships. Then you could get your policies passed.

Great job, guys. Although in the end, you didn't really convince Americans of your policies, did you? Just brought in a bunch of third worlders to drown out the voices of the true citizenry. Really something to be proud of.

Exactly. The world is getting smaller, not larger. We're constantly becoming closer together, not further apart.

That, and there's some large challenges ahead for us as a species, such as global warming, resources, space exploration, etc... These things can only be met with an international commitment. And either we overcome these challenges, or we go extinct, basically. Even Steven Hawkings has said we only have about 200 years left to learn how to live in space, or else we'll become extinct, and he said that about a decade ago.

Most Educated Or Indoctrinated?

This is why I believe Cities are a thing of the past. Unless they are necessary in the future for defense, they are decreasingly necessary for anything else. There is no need for large cities any longer.

With regard to the Hispanics. Seems to me they will abandon the Democrats over time. The Latin culture shares many things with the Republican platform. I have seen this change over time within those I have known for years. Even a few, very few for now, of the leaders are switching. I would not be surprised if the Latin vote goes Republican in the coming years.

Indocrinated or not, they're definitely wealthier:

Wealth is an interesting factor. I wonder what the standard of living is? Remember that much of the yellow on the chart is "none" because of unpopulated areas.

How much better off are you when you home costs $400K, sales tax is 10%, state income tax is the close to the highest in the country, even gas is an extra $1.50/gallon in California or $150K for the same property elsewhere where gas is much cheaper, there's is no sales tax, no state income tax and basic services like restaurants, maid service, lawn care are cheaper?

When I look at the graduated scale on that chart, the top to mid income is only $50K (there's very little of the top color on the chart), much of which could get eaten in extra house payment and property taxes alone.

Global warming is a money and power grab in it's current form. The real solution to global warming lies in free market technology advances.

Resources are constantly being discovered. There will be fossil fuels for a long time to come because, once again, previously unprofitable reserves are become profitable due to better technology.

Space exploration? Well, didn't Red Bull just send a man into space on a balloon for all purposes? Private space exploration will outcompete government space exploration.

Basically, once we all begin to do business with encrypted anonymous online currencies, states will go broke. The return on violence is decreasing as witnessed by dictatorships falling left and right. As the world gets smaller, it will be much easier to go for smaller more efficient run nations.

But of course, the current elite is pursuing supranational organizations cause they see their power base challenged by the internet economy.

Oh hai, European socialists want their master plan back.

Oil is traded in dollars therefore dollar will stay 'strong'. If you try to trade oil in any other currency the us will put their brand spanking new F35's to use.

or until the bankers says it's time for a change and give another country a shot at the title.

hispanics are conservatives by nature and usually voted rep. look at who voted for baby bush.

maybe they didnt vote rep this time because who was SELECTED to rep the rep.

in 4 years. the house will be controlled by the dems and a rep will be in white house.

it flip flops every time. check the archives. fucking mericans don't even notice.

I don't think the Republicans have a snowballs chance in hell of getting the White House back with their current platform.

It's not a bad platform, but the party is completely dishonest when they get into power and totally ignore it.

The Dems say they are for spending, and they spend.

The Republicans say they are against spending, and they spend.

And when push comes to shove, the Dems win the argument Grandma on SS vs the military.

The truth is, American conservatism has always been a farce going back to Lincoln. People are just wiser about it now. In an age of political cynicism, Republicans damage themselves with their actions when in power.

And I can understand why. It's the fundamental compromise of power. If you are in power, you are expected to exercise it.

Most minarchists are Republicans. They expect that when their guy gets into power, he will exercise restraint. It's like people who argue for statism with me. "All men are bad, but my man is good!" It's cognitive dissonance.

The only way the Republicans get back in is if they can pivot to the center. Having a centrist candidate with a right wing platform, in a party no one except conservative activists (blindly) trust, is a recipe for failure.

Does it really matter anyway? America as most people imagine it will be radically different in 40 years once the debt comes home to roost, interest rates go up and the boomers are dead.
