Pathway
Watch football this weekend? Did you see the game where the receivers were running around like banshees just all over the place? Me neither. They were running routes. A few even ran extremely precise routes, were targeted, and converted a pass.
Where the hell do you keep sending your prospects? If you’re not directing them, they’re going off the radar.
The contagion needs a pathway to and from. There and back. But they can’t just go and come back. They need to do something. They need to multiply, act parasitic, and flee from the old host and get to the new. Fast.
Virality is easy. Anyone can go and get a lucky tweet, a reddit link to pop, or come up with a clever quote which a few people share on facebook. Those are all mini virals. Someone enjoyed it, shared it, but then… then what? What’s in it for you? What did YOU gain?
Shit goes viral all the time, but the path a person goes on better damn well give you something in return, and it better give them a way back to you.
This video has gone viral this week:

I have watched it quite a few times. 1.) it’s funny and insane and creative. 2.) it’s going viral and you should probably study the elements why. Maybe it’s because of the funny, insane, creativeness. Or maybe it’s something else.
But the most key thing to the pathway is connection. You need the pathway to connect and connect and connect and connect. A receiver has the route option at the top of his route to take off, stop and come back, flag, etc. If the quarterback has to flee the pocket but still wants to convert, the receiver better be able to find the next gap to convert a pass. You better have multiple ways to capture your audience, and get something from them.
What did I ultimately take away from that video? I found this gem.
