Are you seriously implying that if our best athletes didn't play basketball/football they wouldn't fucking dominate soccer? Also, I'm pretty sure US won our group in the WC and tied England.
The only reason soccer is the most popular sport in the World is because of shithole third world countries. And this is coming from someone who actually enjoys watching/following soccer (although not nearly as much as football).
Soccer can definitely be fun to watch, especially watching the best players in the World. Most of the time, though, it's pretty fucking boring. It's great watching while hungover on Saturday morning, since its so slow and easy to follow.
Watching for 90+ minutes to see 1 goal is pretty weak.

lol so true. I could never get how fat guys could be professional "athletes". american football and baseball are so slow and boring with way too many breaks. I'm surprised they don't go and grab a coffee between plays.
It's not just football (soccer), it's every sport:
Baseball = Shitty, simpler, less technical cricket with queer uniforms.
American Football = Softer, slower, less technical, less energetic rugby with queer uniforms.
Pattern emerging here... take a sport, make it less difficult to play, add queer sportswear and use it to sell Budweiser.
