The Best Logos Ever Created

That '73 logo was the most iconic one of the bunch. Should've kept that.

Yeah I agree, as an 80s kid that's still the logo I think of when I think pepsi, which tbh isn't that often lol.

How do you go from the concept of inside of an orange (the juice) to squeezing your mom and kids with love and affection? What he said absolutely made no sense and it seems like he was caught off guard with the question as he stumbled through it.

Well if it makes you feel better he was fired and they hired his ex wife......who had control for a grand total of 2 years before shuttering the groups doors.

As for as all text logos go, I've always thought that Gap had a distinguishable logo that created brand awareness.

But for some reason, they wanted to ditch it in 2010 and replace it with a new one. That went over about as well as New Coke.

After one week, they had changed back to the old one after public backlash.

Some interesting science on why the new (now defunct) logo failed.

Came to this thread because I thought it said "Legos".

If anyone is looking for a Christmas present for me:

I really think GAP completely played the public and media on this one. I don't think they ever had any intention to use that logo. They put it out there to cause controversy and to get enormous amounts of free press. The only place the logo ever got used was a brief appearance on a single popup shop.

I do think the current logo could use a typographical face lift however. Nothing major, the logo could remain largely unchanged, save for a more contemporary font choice.

You could be right. I was thinking the same thing when I saw their new logo which is so terrible, you'd think it had to be bad on purpose.

BTW, if you compare this attempt to Microsoft's "square" logo, it's interesting how the placement of things like objects in your logo makes all the difference as they can have a psychological effect on a person's brain.
