My two dime on this topic is that women need men to cover their insecure nature. The problem is that TV, Media, Government, etc try to percuade the opposite.

That's the root of the evil.

They can be successful in business, but they wont be happy.

Tha purpose of women is to love them and make babies with them. Lot's of them. And believe me, they like it.

Well most start ups (successful ones) are created and run by men, most great developers are men, most open source contributors are men.

What bothers me about this is how women have become more aggressive and are acting more like men these days, while our society keeps telling them this is a good thing.

It's one thing for women to have a career but I think a lot of the aggressiveness and other traits women use to get a position at work and move up the company ladder have carried over into their social lives and how they react to men outside the office.

What makes things even worse is our mainstream media. The scripted TV shows these days always seem to have a strong woman married to a bumbling man who acts more like a child and is always being berated by his woman for doing dumb, childish things...or basically not acting like a man.

I'm sure this is a winning formula for good ratings but I think it puts men in a bad light. If today's man is being portrayed as an idiot with Peter Pan syndrome who constantly needs his wife's help to get through life, how does that shape the minds of men who are watching these shows?

IMO, women's lib supported by the liberal media has turned men into women and women into men.

Stand up comedy and comedic acting roles have always been primarily the territory of males, and a large percent of comedy involves acting like a doofus. Charlie Chaplin was doing this in silent films and then there was the likes of Laurel & Hardy and The Three Stooges.

The Honeymooners was in the 50s and many sitcoms since then have followed that pattern in at least some way, even animated shows like the Flintstones and Simpsons. Roseanne might have been the first to break out of the mold, though she wasn't stupid, but would burp and do other goofy stuff like that.

And I would guess that boys now watch less television (especially major network), and instead spend more time with videos games, computers and cell phones.
