Thinking about doing a colon cleanse...

Well, since G mentioned the Master Cleanse I have tried it for 11 days. Just started eating again recently.

I was hungry for the first few days but then it didn't bother me. I only ended up having a couple of glasses of the lemonade each day and didn't notice any decrease in productivity. Not eating actually saved time for more work.

After a few weeks break I'll defiantly be trying the 40 day version.

Wow congrats!

Give yourself a month or more. 40 days is a real challenge. I don't doubt you can do it, but it is a lot tougher than 11 days. You want your body to go into it in good shape.

Also you have to be super careful when breaking really long cleanses or you can hurt yourself.

If you want to chat about it, PM me.

I have a hard time focusing when I do a cleanse.

Yeah. That's what happens when you don't eat. I'm really not sure if this thread is serious, or just to convince the sheeple that might read WickedFire that buying their açaí berry rebills is a good idea.

Or maybe it is to have evidence for a court case that you didn't believe rebillers were scamming people...

My family history of colon cancer is...well....shitty.

So - from someone who's had a colonoscopy in the last year (at 36) take it from me - you can do this over the counter for less than $20.

Dulcolax + Miralax + 1 gallon of Gatoraid (yellow).

I unfortunately couldn't handle all of the above and ended up barfing for 4 hours and THEN got the runny shits from hell. On top of that I had to have an enema the next morning from a 900 year old nurse.

I will do that to get detection scans, etc, for cancer - but NOT as a hobby/health pursuit.

6 oz of Grey Goose, 12 oz of V8 juice, 1 squeezed lemon slice -- mix with ice and drink quickly... wait 20 minutes -- then think carefully about that other stuff your contemplating squeezing up your ass.

Yeah. That's what happens when you don't eat.
About 500 or so calories per day. My problem with focusing has more to do with my mind getting so quiet I notice everything. It's hard to find a zone.

What you're talking about is not a cleanse. You're just flushing your intestine.

Cleansing is about the process.

Yeah, when coming off from the 11 days I followed the instructions - orange juice for a day first, then next day more orange juice, fruit salad etc. I didn't want to mess up my stomach.

The most beneficial aspect for me was the sense of perspective it gives you. It's refreshing not having to constantly consume food.

Maple syrup's more expensive than I thought. Still cheaper then my normal diet though.

You're probably right about a longer break - I'll leave it a while before going for the 40.

Doing it for 11 days I actually lost 10lbs. That wasn't the aim (although I could probably do with losing some) but it was interesting.

I can actually see myself doing a 10 day block every quarter or so.

I'm not going to quibble about the semantics but I could damn near hover over the toilet during the worst of it. :nopenope:

It is not a matter of semantics though. Your body needs time to release toxins and flush them from your system. Doing a crash flush like that does little to remove impacted feces from your intestine, or to properly balance the bacteria that lives in your gut and aids in digestion.

An enema is not a cleanse.

I like vegetable soup broth and orange juice. Then transition to some cooked veggies in a soup or stew. That's after longer cleanses. You definitely want to ease meat, dairy and bread back in slow. Also, I have found that taking probiotics after the cleanse is a big help. If you do this, get "enteric coated" as they are designed to get past your stomach acids and deliver a larger payload of good flora to your intestine.

The mental benefits are right up there with the physical ones.

A lot of your weight loss on short cleanses will be loss of retained water. You'll put some of that back on over time from my experience.

Tempted to give it a try.

They stick a tube up your ass and pump you full of water then drain you out. Sure it will feel weird but i want to see the results.

I know a few other people who are full of shit that could give it a try too.

Is it unhealthy to do it in the way i mentioned above?

Sorry didnt read the whole thread, reading from the last to first

I don't know, I have never had an enema. I'm not a fan of trying to do super short term and dramatic interventions. If you want to get healthier, take the time to do it right.
