Thoughts on Joe Paterno?

I agree that this whole mess shouldnt be just about one man , and if it was it should be about that sick MF'er JS . However Jo Pa is PSU football and he has always been about doing the right thing . Many others are just as guilty or more guilty than Jo Pa however He is the face of PSU football and he had to go . It is sad that his legacy will be about this scandal becuase he really has done so much good for PSU but to turn your back on these kids is just sick .
Agreed. I personally feel that the right decision was made to fire Paterno. Looking at the details we have right now, it was the only decision the university had. My point was with the information that is available right now, there is absolutely no basis for criminal charges. That is right now, at least. If it is found that Paterno did indeed cover up the story, then that is a different story.

I don't get why Curley and Mcqueary are still employed at PSU. It is absolutely baffling.

Sorry sir, but you cant assume an assumption is an assumption.

People are very capable of keeping secrets, even big nastay ones.

This thread is a moral cockfest with people saying what "they would of done" and persecuting someone based on what the media (which all of you say is biased and wrong in most other threads).

Everyone condemning him is a moron, everyone defending him is slightly less of a moron (innocent until proven guilty, hur)

And as for the 28yr old who saw the kid gettin it in the shower, seriously, what would you do if you saw that image? "youd get up there and beat down the old man". I'd say for a sane, normal person, going into shock and calling the person you trust most is a reasonable action.

my thoughts, worst case, ganging up on paterno is like sending the DEA to a street line pusher and leaving the boss alone.

What the hell are you talking about ? You must know very little about PSU Football . LOL at comparing Jo Pa to Street line pusher , hate to break it to you but Jo Pa had more power than the AD ever could have had .

What needs to be proven in regards to Paterno? You're making it sound like Paterno is claiming that he was totally clueless about the situation, but the reality is that he himself admitted that he wishes he had done more. If he is criticizing himself, then of course others are going to do so even more.

Matt if you, want later on tonite I'll post up a spoon pic with the words "look Matt".

That pic will be of my two hands and the twisted fingers on the both of them from the many times I've broken them punching fuckheads out over the years.

Just let me know if you want me to, ok?

I'd have kicked the fucking shit out him no questions asked -- or he'd have beaten me (unlikely with my reaction times but possible). In any event one of us would have ended up on the floor in a puddle of blood.

Call my father?!?! -- you have mistaken me for someone with no fuckin balls.

I don't understand why people get so emotionally involved in stories like this. Does it effect you in anyway? Nope!

You dumb fuck, have you ever heard of an injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere? As a society, we have to route this shit out.

What the fuck is wrong with people who defend Joe Paterno? A whole fucking campus rioting in support of this piece of shit? Jesus Christ.

Actually, less then 5% of Penn State students "Rioted." Glad to see you blindly believe what you see on the news.

very sad - where i grew up (right outside of PSU main) Jopa was more well known than santa clause, and more respected than the Pope. He was a community leader and very well liked. As a Father I am repulsed at this but still do not want to believe it.

Sex with children is soo fucked up there is not enough space on the internet for me to express my true feelings about it. And I'm not talking about an 18 yr old kid banging his 15 and half year old GF.

If he saw an adult having sex with a child he should have (A) punched the scumbags lights out, and (B) dragged that unconscious body down to the police station -- and I mean real cops, not the fucking campus police.

I second that, anyone who had knowledge of what happened that didn't report to authority ought to be all wiped out at once. There's no excuse for that.

Sad situation.

Mike McQueary.

How can he look in the mirror each day.
He walks in on a 60 year old man sodomizing a 10 year old boy and his first thought is to leave and call "him daddy" on the phone.

No thought of taking that child of that horrendous situation?
What a fucking piece of shit.
He should burn with Sandusky.

havnt read through this thread but has no one realized:

this guy has "queer" in his name paired with the fact that he is a ginger. thes physical characteristics make up a molester, sorry mcqueery.

Have you ever been a kid?

Do you have kids ?

So, you're saying because this story involves the molestation of kids, I should care? Sure, I feel sorry for the kids, but kids get diddled everyday by pederasses and it doesn't make the headlines. Such is life, unfortunately. The only reason this story is getting so much attention is because it involves Joe Paterno, not because of the kids.

QFT

You are correct, I didn't really dig as deep as I normally would.

Still, 5% seems like far too many people protesting in favor of this criminal.

And you quote "rioted" as if that is up for debate. Did they not damage property? Was it not officially a riot? Again, I haven't read up on it all too much.. so I am asking?

A select few did indeed damage property. However, an overwhelming majority were peaceful in nature. Also, while the students were upset that Joe Paterno was fired, the students were livid that Mcqueary and Curley are stilled employeed. The van that was flipped was found to have been orchestrated by a Brooklyn man who was visiting his friend for the week.

To put it into further prospective: A few thousand students held a candlelight vigil for the victims of the abuse. Mclanahan's - a huge store in downtown State College sold a few thousand t-shirts with the blue ribbon on it to represent the sign for victims of abuse. All of the proceeds are going towards victims of child abuse.

The students DO NOT support these actions or individuals involved in this case. However, they look as Joe Paterno as an idol,a hero, and the face of the organization. Give them a fucking break for being in denial that the man they grew up to aspire to be like and probably the deciding in factor as to why they went to penn state isn't what they thought he was. The students are in shock, despair, and in disbelief of the actions of the former Administration.

ok, fair enough.

Correct me if im wrong, which i may be, but were the students not chanting "We want Joe, just one more game?".. fuck that, these aren't high school students.. they should have a solid grasp on morality by now. Fuck giving them a break. Bc they lost their hero, they support a child rapist?... "oh but just for one more game.. we're coping. one more game plz. we really wanna win." Jesus, that 's just fucked- anyway you look at it.. Not all that surprising, but most definitely fucked.

Not sure why you're defending it.

edit: He may have not been the actual rapist, but he is just as guilty.

Not sure I follow your logic. Since when has Joe Paterno been accused of rape? Oh, he hasn't. In case you didn't read in what your mainstream media overlords were reporting, the loudest chant was "Fuck Sandusky".

Oh yeah, approximately 10,000 students attended the candlelight vigil for the victims today. That's 4-5x the amount of students that were "rioting." Didn't see that anywhere in the news.

Your ignorance of the situation is completely evident and you should probably stop posting before you make yourself look even less intelligent.
