If you don't doubt intelligent life then I'm sure you don't doubt that it would be possible for future technology to bend time and space to greatly reduce travel distances. Considering some galaxies are millions of years older than ours ...well you get the idea. Assuming the human race was given another 10 millions years, what would our technology look like? Pretty hard to imagine isn't it? Even just 50 years ahead is not so easy. Maybe they just have a "Google maps" of the universe and get transported instantly wherever they want by a simple thought

There's a theory that when any life form gets too advanced with their technology they end up wiping themselves out through error which would explain why we've never found anyone.

Of course it's possible, I can't even fathom what kind of advancement they'd have over us. If they were so advanced, and scanned our defenses.. they're probably just laughing at how far back we are.
Now that things on Earth are advancing almost exponentially, it's hard to imagine where we'll be in 10 years time. I like where we are now though.

So they teleport to our planet, hover around random places disabling weapons, abducting a few red necks and then fuck off? Don't understand why they would do this.. Why wouldn't they just make themselves apparent, if they are that advanced it's not like we'd be able to fuck with them or anything. If they are that advanced they would barely be concerned with us, we'd be less than ants to them, why would they be trying to disable our military bases?

The UN will hold a meeting of the world's 7 countries (yeah there'll be only 7) and need to get 100% votes to authorize use of the time machine.
