It's enough to prevent news helicopters from taking pictures. I also thought there was already no fly zones over nuclear power plants, but maybe there is normally a loophole for the news. It's not like there aren't already news photos from overhead of power plants.

I heard the plant is a front for an alien spacecraft refueling station. There has been an increased activity of arrivals/departures due to the fact that the end of the world has been rescheduled to October 21st.
