USA politicians are Destroying the country.

ActBlue. Another Soros front group. You have all seen the proof that many of the listed contributors were non existent people right?

No I haven't, and maybe I'm plugging the wrong things into google, but I can't find anything about that. There is nothing on their wikipedia entry either for what would be a violation of federal law. Was the proof Glen Beck talking into a microphone? :1bluewinky:

One article I'm looking at says that billionaire Soros gave ActBlue a whopping $6,900, hardly enough to call it his group.

Gee... this post went in a different direction than I intended.

...........

A vote for Ron Paul... would simply be a waste.
Unless there is a measurable Possibility of his actually Winning.
In the end, our only "choice" is to vote for the Lesser of two evils.

..........

We're in Seriously Sad shape, people.

Prime

Actually while I agree the chances of Ron Paul getting the nomination is slim to none. The whole idea of wasting your vote by choosing the lessor of two evils is part of the problem.

What happens during the election is most people disgusted with what is happening either hold their nose and vote for the "lessor of two evils" or stay home and do not vote at all.

Neither of these changes anything. If everyone who hates the way things are going actually went and voted for a third party candidate or the candidate they really liked regardless of whether or not they thought they would win the politicians might have some incentive to change the direction they are heading.

Seriously how is voting for the person you really want to win a waste of your vote?

Honestly though while it may have made a difference 20 or 30 years ago it is probably too late at this point. We are headed off the cliff and I doubt it can be fixed until we hit bottom.

The single largest cause of our problems is letting people with no stake in the country have a say in how it is run. Why should people who do not contribute to the country (pay taxes, create jobs etc) have a say in how that money is spent? Raise taxes, spend more worthless money etc. Why should these people care? It is not costing them anything. They have nothing at stake for all the crazy stuff the Govt spends money on, in fact just the opposite. If you are sucking off the Govt tit who are you going to vote for? The person who promises you the most free stuff that is who. Somebody else is paying the bill so why not. So the politicians promise more free stuff to the leaches to buy their votes and we end up where we are today.

LOL, Just vote, motherfuckers.

All of you big talking, jingoistic fucktools get involved, get out the word, and organize the vote.

Do It. Or STFU and live with the consequences.

Or Get ready For This:

My neighborhood is ready...

Stop biting your fingernails mate... u nervous?

Idealism ends with the most active idealists losing. it is not a good strategy. Idealism like the above is only worthwhile in politics within a party. make the change within. 3rd parties lose more than just the election, they lose their ability to have anything close to what they want achieved.

If your ideas have traction, then you should be able to make a difference within a party. If not then maybe your ideas are not as good as you think.

If you are young, then look at history. If you are older then you already know what I am talking about.

Thank fuck I don't live in America. Seriously.

Yeah, but it sure is nice that we are there when you need us isn't it.

US Taxpayers Just Paid $780 Million To Fund The Latest Greece Bailout Tranche

picture-5.jpg

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 07/08/2011 18:59 -0400

The IMF is delighted to announce that it just approved a €3.2 billion disbursement of cash for Greece, its fifth, as part of the €12 billion in money that Greece needs in order to continue operating in the months f July and August. And just for what purpose will this money be used, one may ask? Well, as explained a few weeks ago, in Greek Math: €12 Billion In, €18.2 Billion Out the entire amount will be promptly recycled by global financial institutions in the form of debt maturities and interest payments, which amount to €18.2 billion in the months of July and August. Simply said ECB, EU and IMF money in, money owed to bankers out. The kicker: 17.09% of the money coming from the IMF, comes from, that's right dear US taxpayer, you (and since 21% of the quota contributions allocated to the IMF are deemed "non-usable", the actual number funded by the US is likely much higher). But this plot has a bonus kicker: as we reported on Wednesday, the actual Greek debt is no longer owed by European banks to the extent it had been previously expected: a development that threatens to scuttle the entire second Greek bailout plan as currently proposed. So as the banks have been selling Greek debt, who has been buying? Mostly hedge funds, such as everyone's favorite John Paulson. So to recap: US taxpayers have just paid out about $780 million of the $4.6 billion in order to fund interest owed to... hedge funds.

its been a while since i saw that video, but i believe that's what a corporation used to be

And if it was still that way, America would probably not be as entrepreneurial nor as successful as we are today. LLC's are a great framework for starting up a business, and they're one of the reasons it's so easy to start up a successful company here.

Corporations aren't the problem, it's lobbying that's the problem.

Do you think corporations lobby for the EPA to burden business with useless regulations? No, that's thanks to extreme environmentalists.

What about the various social programs? did corporations want them? no.

Well at this point I see us as way too far down the rabbit hole to matter.

I do disagree about working within the parties though. That thinking is exactly why nothing has improved. The parties do just enough to suck in the ones they need to pay attention to and ignore the rest.

If everyone who was really unhappy with the system went elsewhere the parties would have to respond in some way. I remember when Perot ran the first time, so many people said that they liked him the best but since they did not think he could win they were voting for somebody else. Why? I really do not see how voting for who you think is the best choice is throwing your vote away. If he had won even one or two states our political system would have gone nuts and we may have actually seen some change. Sorry but I believe that if all those dissatisfied people actually did vote for someone else it would make a difference. Right now staying within the parties just rewards them for bad behavior.

Whether or not a majority of people agree with me really has no bearing on if my ideas are good or not. I honestly do not really care if one other person agrees with me, other than occasionally letting myself get sucked into these types of discussions I very rarely have political discussions anymore.

Politics is not about good ideas or making things better or fixing things any more, it is about the appearance of making things better or fixing things which is a whole different ball game altogether. If you really think that the politicians in DC really care about fixing the problems of this country then I am not the only idealist. With very few exceptions all they care about is looking like they are solving the problems not whether they are really accomplishing anything or not.

In all reality it does not matter that much to me at this point. Twenty five years ago I was very political and spent a lot of time and energy trying to convince people. Somehow I was too radical but a lot of things I said back then are coming true now. Twenty years ago I realized the place we were headed was not going to be changed by anything I did. I started planning for me an mine at that point. Moved out of the city to hicksville back in 95 and never looked back. Will it suck as things get a lot worse in this country? Sure it will but it will suck a lot less for me than most as I am fairly well set to proper under most conditions and I continually improve as much as I can.

That's the crazy thing. I always wondered why Big Corps gave so much money to crazy liberal causes, think tanks, etc. It is because increased regulation thwarts the market system. It causes barriers to entry and thus less new innovators that can hurt the Corp. It allows the Corps to keep theirs and not allow others to get anything.

Just like Hollywood or other Rich liberals - they have theirs and now they want to hurt everyone else.

These people that advocate the ideas think they are smarter than everyone else and thus need to tell everyone else how to live. It is at the core of Liberalism.

As Ayn Rand said:

It stands to reason that where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting sacrificial offerings. Where there's service, there's someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice, speaks of slaves and masters. And intends to be the master.
The big corporations lobby all of the time for regulations.

To be honest the shareholders could probably sue for not maximizing profit, then the Corp would at least have to admit in court pleadings they are doing it to hinder new entrants to the market.

@ARVolund. Most of these people were not old enough for the Perot days. But I hear you. Some important incumbents lost that year when Clinton won because everyone was high on the "kick them all out" craze. Just a repeat of history.
