Actually, it has become worse in the last century. The values and practices of the Wahhabi sect, the most radical, have gained popularity thanks to our trillions of dollars we give to the Saudis allowing them to spread their cancer around the world.

Religions encompass the culture they were created in, some worse than others. Their resistance to change (of course the Koran and Bible are the word of god and are eternal) means that we are stuck with the backward values and corrupt pratices that happened to be common at the time, even though society is light years ahead now. Unfortunately Islam is one that is not only the most destructive but also has progressed the least over time.

Christianity is no better than Islam. If you read the bible, you will find out that you can get stones, beaten, beheaded, burned for many, many things.

The ONLY thing that saved the west (and that could save the east) is the seperation of church and state.
Having the state (and at best, a democratic one) make the rules about morals, crime and punishment and not the church is the way to go.

So, in short, Christianity evolved FUCK ALL. Only thing that changed is that religion doesn't matter anymore. (In countries with their head screwed on straight.)

Think about this the next time someone (yet again) tries to blur that line by pushing religius doctrine into school curriculums, religious values into law, etc...

Christianity has evolved quite a bit over the last two thousand years. There is no longer forced conversion, punishment for sins etc that was practiced in the past. These are still fervently practiced by muslims today (you'll find examples on a daily basis if you read the news, kill the infidel, beheadings, stoning etc). Christianity has evolved for the most part along with the culture and people that are believers: "the west". It is not due to separation of church and state, in fact many of biblical principles are deeply part of western law. The middle east for the most part has failed to make this progress and consequently the religion hasn't either. It is a question of culture as much as it is religion.

These countries that have thier "head screwed on straight" are the ones that will be taken over from the inside out by Islam.

Most of the southern states in the US have a church on every corner and a gun in every house. This will keep Islam and Sharia from taking over here.

Sharia Law is not officially part of the Islam. 90% of Muslims don't practise it. There are many Christian terrorists, too.

There is no single 'sharia law'. Sharia law isn't part of the religion of Islam, because it's not in the quran or the teachings of the prophet. Sharia law is a legal system based on an interpretation of the quran. Each country has their own interpretation, which is why the sharia law is different in all the countries you go.

So sharia law means fuck all, and it has nothing to do with the religion itself. Let me give you a few famous examples:

Stoning is in Sharia, but it's nowhere in the quran or in the teachings of the prophet. The reason for that is because stoning was practiced in Arabia before Islam, not because Islam came and introduced it. The same applies to female circumcision, hand cutting for stealing and arranged marriage to name a few.

Let me remind you all that Islam and Christianity both came from the same region of the world. This notion you may have of Christianity being more 'civilised' and 'peaceful' having 'evolved' is complete bullshit. Religions don't evolve because the whole concept of religion is based on one scripture being the absolute truth and word of God, so there is no evolving for something that is meant to be perfect and timeless.

There have been so many revisions of the Bible it's a joke. No one knows what the original bible was anyway, because it has been subjected to constant meddling by priests through time.

Because a few crazy ass US soldiers commit crimes in a war zone to prisoners (most probably deserved it) then it is allright that Muslims commit horrific crimes against innocents including women and children.
