There seems to be a huge gap between the truely successful AM's and the guys battling to make $50 a day. Why is this?

What makes an AM jump from making < $100/day to thousands a day? What do they big guys know that the thousands of little guys don't?

and experience. just doing it really helps. you learn more by doing it yourself then being told what you should/shouldn't do.

I'm sure all of those things have a factor. But there are just some people that manage to be succesful in everything they do. I'm wondering if the people successful in AM are just those kind of people. Of if they've just found there niche. Basically what i want to know is, how can i be one of them? Jon?

People who are a big success seem to:
a) have a lot of money to start with
b) really know their topic, they can be more indepth, provide more info, and just really make a better site than their competitors.

Luck is a factor as well. I like the facebook example. Zuckerberg was a harvard student, programmed these side projects for fun. Started a primitive example of facebook that nearly got him suspended (I think he used the schools database of photos of students or something), found there was demand for it, improved on it and grew it.
Didn't build it seeking to be huge, to make profit from it and take over his life. But it did! So thats why I think luck is a big factor, some people just strike lucky and things roll progressively from there.

I don't think there is that big a gap between those earning $100/day and those earning thousands. If you have figured out how to earn $100/day they you've done the hard work, just do the same thing again in a different niche and carry on multiplying.

I dont think you need the money to start with. This is possibly one industry when you can start with very little cash and with a handful of good (not great even) ideas, get the cash coming in.

Focus is also important as is drive to succeed

Vision, Focus, Discipline and Perseverance. And lots of Time - we all want success, that's obvious, but how many of us are REALLY willing to work HARD for it ?!

I don't know if you've noticed, but Jon mentioned a few times that he spends lots of time working - "7 days a week, and about 12-14 hours a day" is an exact quote. Are you willing to do that ?! I know I never did anything even close to it...

Along with the above, they think about things with more practicality, and come up with stuff that others don't.

i spend average 2 hours a day doin website-related stuff, i'm sure if i put the effort in and worked for longer i'd make a lot more, but i'd die from lack of sleep seein as school takes up 6 hours of my day.

I think it takes time and effort.

I'm curious though. Apart from Jon, are there any people on here making thousands a month? If so are they not posting for a reason? Maybe waiting for the premium section to open up or am I just not seeing their posts among the hundreds of new posts that start

Pretty sure I saw Lee post, i think most of the big earners are just too busy to post whore like the rest of us ;)

It takes attitude to be ultra succesful. Attitude to fuel your desire to be the best. You have to aspire or want what you want to be. If you just say you want to be succesful but keep putting opportunities to be succesful off, you won't be succesful.

Find a market that offers a high CPA, say $50 per sale and shoot for a goal of 5 sales a day. Rinse and repeat. Before you know it, you'll be doing 20 a day.

If you're not fully, totally and truly committed to creating wealth, chances are you won't.

Also, why is everyone aiming to make only $20 or even $50 a day?....
