Being in AM often means having to do a bit of everything... what is it that you find the toughest (or hate) to do?

1) Programming
2) Content Writing
3) Designing
4) SEO'ing

Personally: Content Writing! Can't stand doing this. Happy I found some reliable writers to take care of this part.

Whenever I take a step back and look at my design "work" I get a sense of a freshly painted Jackson Pollock after Pee Wee Herman had dragged his ball sack across it.

Writing content here too. I'm good at it I just hate doing it, it reminds me of college when I used to put off writing papers until the last minute. Unfortunately I don't have deadlines anymore so sometimes it gets put off for a very long time.

Designing + Content Writing.

CSS + XHTML, not a big deal. It's getting that right layout for every idea that's the time consuming part. Hard to find decent designers that don't make stuff look like everything else.

Content Writing, only when there's a lot of stuff to write and it has to be salesy + convert - not stuff you don't care if anyone reads besides Google. It's the 10+ page range that gets to be annoying when they're all basically saying the same thing.

The toughest part is treating it like a business, and not a summer job.

^ This.

This 1000 times for me. Hammering out process is most effective for me, then I can plug in either my time and effort or outsourced labor for each component. It's difficult to stay on course any other way.

That said, I love writing, but hate writing shit for my own sites. What's worse is I'm almost never completely satisfied with the content that is delivered, and end up spending some of my time editing it.

I'm a shitty designer and still trying to pick up some coding skill, so the challenge of improving in those areas makes it easier for me to want to do them. Putting the whole thing together into a packaged product is the toughest part.

I think the more important question is: What are your strengths? Do that, those come easy anyway.

I suck at design and coding so I let someone who is strong in those areas cover that.

I have a hard time with that too.

I also hate personal business meetings. Back home it's a kind of social event. Clients want to go to your office in order to take a break from theirs. This would be great if I had dozens of employees, but as a freelancer, my mind goes like: "Ok! You're here for 2 hours... If you don't leave, I'll never get your job done!"

I can't program or design anything at all. I'm currently building up a small bankroll so I can waste some time down the road learning both. I already can write well and have decent SEO knowledge.
