What's The Appropriate Title For A Local SEO Business Card?

Really, you should do both. You pass those cheapo ones out to people who are just asking for it on auto. You pass out the really posh ones when you're on your way to landing a client.

Edit: btw there are a couple of good business card threads around here. Also I belive there are a couple of good wf members that make up a mean set of cards. Can't remember who though atm.

I didn't mean you need to spend $4 a card like that twat. It's easy to get really nice cards for just yourself for about 20-40 cents a piece and still make a great impression and be economical to give them to everyone. You don't get a second chance to make a first impression after all. Of course the costs get cheaper per card the more you get. For example, I designed up cards for 4 WF members plus 4 for my company prior to ASE and had them printed by a NYC printing company and delivered to our hotel. They were double sided full colour offset with silver Pantone ink and matte UV coating for $50 each person for 500 cards.

With these guys the skies the limit (cotton, suede, plastic, etc.), but you could get their standard 16pt full colour offset silk cards, double sided, uv coated, with spot gloss and metallic foil for 27.5 cents each if you ordered 1000. Silk Cards and Silk Business Cards: Customize your business card design with Decorative Foil, Spot Gloss, and Die-Cutting.

Scope their portfolio. They've produced some pretty spectacular cards.

You want your card to be something that doesn't just get tossed in the pile of other beige or cheap CMYK cards. If you want to impress you want your card printed on a proper press on heavy weight stock with real Pantone inks and finished with metallic inks, spot gloss, foils, embossing, letterpress, die cuts or thermography. Your branding should be consistent and you card should match the visual style of your website and other promotional materials.

GotPrint sucks as well? So who do you recommend then for cards?

EDIT: Never mind, I just saw your suggestion above my post.

That being said, to answer the original question - I didn't put a title on my latest card. Anyone I give it to is going to know what I do because we've had the chance to speak one on one. You can also say on the card what your company does in a number of ways without having to label yourself.

This is what I'm thinking. The card is already gonna list some of the services the company offers, I'd rather keep my job title vague if it exists at all. This thread has basically confirmed what I was already thinking, except for warning me about Vistaprint and Gotprint. I know there's a thread specifically about business card manufacturers, I should just use the search function for that I guess.

The other option is to find a high quality local printer that you can deal with in person. If doing marketing for local businesses you might need to get other print materials produced and such a relationship would be good to have. You might even be able to do some sort of trade for services. The printing business is highly competitive and a local shop may benefit from your SEO skills. May or may not be a good idea, just throwing that out there.

I've always been partial to the simple, powerful statements. Try:

Traffic God

-If you can keep a straight face while telling people you are one, then you'll never be forgotten. ;)

I think Director of/or Area then Marketing Specialist is a good way to go about it. Like mentioned above, it gives you some clout but doesn't mean you are the shot caller so you can deflect what you don't want to deal with.
