It seems that services providers have learn marketing from the HOTH and learning to hype their services like mad, and charging over the odds for the services.

Last few web2.0 spinning article stuff, barely caused a dent in the serps for me. And I'm starting to think that it would be better to get higher authority paid link and legit guest posts on highly subscribed websites. I had good luck with guest posting on 30K+ rss subsribers blogs, and notived immediate serp jumps from it.

Have the buy/sell/trade peddlers going completely bonkers? The only things that seems to work these days is social bookmarking, and that's only when I provide high spun titles and descs.

Anybody else notice the really crap results from these web2.0 parasite blogs?

I remember a year a so ago, $50 would buy you a decent package with results to boot. Nowadays the same money will buy you something that barely causes a dent in serps.

its also because google has been changing their algo so that these links from web2.0, blog comments, profile links aren't as good as they were a year ago.

My SEO got a lot better a few months back when I started pulling ideas from services I'd bought in BST, putting my own spin on them and just doing the work myself.

Takes a shit ton more time, but testing my own stuff and not really talking about on here has gotten pretty good results for me.

Spend less time in BST and more time digging through the SERPs on the tough niches IMO.

Web 2.0 link wheels, profile links, blog comments=FAIL

Sure, that's why you have 100s of porn sites on top of Google for super competitive keywords; all of these sites with 100 000+ backlinks and all from xrumer and SB blasts. If you mean that 1000 blog comments and 200 profiles won't give you No1 for "tits," "forex," or "loans," then you are damn right.
