White People Facing Discrimination in Education

+1 for this. People use it all the time in the reverse, "I don't have a good job becuase I am black". Well no, it is because you didn't go to college and you thought dropping out freshman year in high school was a good idea. Think about it, I never hear "I have a good job because I am black".
It really is quite sad because all they want to do it rid themselves of any responsibility. It is much easier to blame the color of your skin for your failures than it is to accept some personal responsibility.
The worst part of it all is that white liberals are largely responsible for that mindset. If you keep telling somebody that they can't succeed in life without help, they'll begin to believe it unless they have a really strong family that counteracts that bullshit. How ironic that the most demeaning, intellectually and emotionally crippling thing done to blacks is actually at the hands of white liberals and black organizations like NAACP, rather than actual racists.
I've been doing my part to rectify this situation - by promoting education and scholarship offers.
And this thread has given me a whole new idea on how to promote them.

... it's a human problem more so than a political one, so to blame a specific political group or mindset isn't so much different than blaming an ethnic group.

Edit: except you BluAffiliate, that EVIL WHITE GUY stuff gets really annoying quick. We get it, you think white people are bad and that black people have it hard. Which might be true. I live in a place where I see almost no institutional or social racism, ever, with minorities in top positions all over the place, but the fact remains that the post-secondary education system discriminates based on race BEFORE merit, which is irrational and stupid. It'd be irrational and stupid whether it was discriminating against white people, black people or green people.

I disagree; it is political. If certain power groups at the top were not promoting this kind of racist policy, there would be less of a following for everybody else to continue promoting it.
The people benefiting from the old policy were white - the people benefiting from the new are everybody else. It was my (apparently false) understanding that the civil rights movement was to see everybody treated equally under law - yet, the eventual outcome of this has been active discrimination against whites, especially white males. It's fairly easy to see that people are getting sick of it, especially in the last two or three years.
I don't fall for 'white guilt' - I was not responsible for the holocaust, slavery, the 'exploitation of africa' or whatever other nonsense people want to throw at ethnic Europeans as a group. At the same time, Blacks in the US are not slaves. There have been no slaves in this country for quite some time, and all those involved in the mess are long dead. I am proud of my culture and my people. Yes, my kind of people and our heritage - we do exist, and denying that is a horrible shame. Every kind of ethnic and cultural group should be proud of their uniquenesses - not to the degree that you get into the hitleresque state, but to the point that you don't have to go through all this PC nonsense and pretend that we're all one giant blob of flesh that is completely the same except for skin color. Everybody knows that's not the truth (except for the most indoctrinated fools), but people still follow it because to say otherwise would put your livelihood or reputation in jeapordy.
This world sure would be boring if we were really all the same like some at the top want us to be. Of course, we'd make really great slaves at the same time - that's what globalism is really about. Destroying identity and making us all into one large working class to serve those at the top. Maybe you think that's going off the deep end, but you have a right to your own opinion.
I guess to some extent, I don't see the point in equalizing by race when all it means is disadvantaging some other group (not necessarily white people, since we think they're "advantaged" already, and we're just bringing them to average, but perhaps poor white people, or people who have mediocre grades). If we're talking about being "color blind", we need to be completely unconcerned with race - race as an identity is no more "right" than any other demographic group you might belong in.

Women (me) and minorities get discriminated against all the time. It's a fact of life. I'm a woman in a largely male (and often sexist) tech field. I could sit around getting mad out how the "boys don't let me play" or I can roll up my sleeves (stockings in this case) and work harder, faster and better.
Did I sit around writing blog posts about how unfair it is on the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN'S WEBSITE or get even more series about sales funnel automation processes, copywriting, recruiting affiliates and outsourcing overseas?
The problem that alot of women and minorities have when people start complaining about how "awful" reverse descrimination is that EVERYONE FUCKING GETS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST.
Does it make it right? No....
Is it fair? No...
Move fucking on. If you've got a enough money in the bank you don't to worry about any discrimination.
I got burned out a few years ago and left a plush job in CT to teach in the inner city Bronx. It only lasted for 2 months because it was a war zone and I just couldn't take it.
Point is I told those kids not to get mad about discrimination but to get rich.
So my point is that if you are really into preaching empowerment then stop going on about liberals and what discrimination you face and get rich.
And for the record if you check the annual lists of billionaires there are less than 5 self-made women billionaires and fewer blacks there as well...
Do I sit around and whine about how "unfair" it is or get more determined? The latter....

I'm white bro. I didn't qualify for financial aid or scholarships either. I could have probably gone to Stanford instead of UCLA if I was black or Mexican. The only point I was trying to make is that white people in general have it easier than other minorities, based on how our institutions are set up. You've got to be completely brainwashed if you don't accept that. Take it from a conservative Republican like me.
Should you lose sleep over it? No, just get over it. Make your own money. Stop looking at what's going on to other people and focus on your life. I once dated a Mexican girl who got into Law school entirely due to the fact that she was an URM; she ended up dropping out because it was too hard anyway. Tit for tat. The universe will always reach equilibrium. The white (?) person's spot she took will have a brighter future regardless, even thought he's been 'discriminated against' I'm sure.

PS, funny how no one gives a crap about Asians, who are actually indeed the ones getting screwed the most out of AA and haven't really done anything to deserve it.
