Who are these asshole "Gurus"?

Never been to a seminar, but I've heard they are the place to go if you want to learn how to do a good sales presentation

I'm new to the game... but its just like every other business... its full of idiots like this.

I knew not to fall for any of them.

If you really want to use their methods that really work do this:
Take their letter, subsitute your product on it, change enough to avoid copyright issues, and make an ebook of your "secret" technique.
Opps, I may have let the secret out. Maybe not.

they worse than waiting in line for the entrance to Hell

If they make money from selling those eBooks, I give them credit. Anything for a buck I guess.

It's better just to note the good ones. Always ask a forum before spending money online. An example of a good "guru" book is seobook, who you see in this forum, if that is indeed him and not an impersonator.

I had the same mindset as the majority of you, coming from the design world, but actually changed my mind after some actual investigation.

First of all, many things that are behind crappy sales letters actually work - the problem is that people usually don't implement it.

The "crappy sales letter" issue - as much as I dislike them, I have yet to find a person that did a test to compare a smart sales letter to a nicely designed "wow it looks so cool" page and get a better result from the latter.

The point is, those sales letters are used because they work. Not for you or me, obviously, but for the majority of users that don't know or care about the geekier side of the internet.

And yes, it's often worth paying $19.95 for an ebook with "the same things you could get for free in the forums" instead of searching, compiling, evaluating and sorting good or great advice from crap for days...

These sites and people really piss me off. Some of the sites have headers that say "I made $xxxxx in a day doing x, y and z; you can to for $xx". If you make $xxxxx in a day, why the fuck would you want to sell a little shitty eBook for $xx?

It's just like Richard Branson who is worth the best part of £5 billion making an eBook of his secrets and selling for £35. He isn't going to do it.

It's a shame though, people are stupid enough to click and buy the eBook which makes them create even more sites selling shitty eBooks.

It's not just internet advertising... it's present in all sectors that involve money.

-Let me tell you the secret to buying real estate with no money down!
-Did you know you can make millions buying from goverment repossessions and car auctions?
-I'll show you the secrets to making millions with ebay!
-Buy my book with medical secrets no one wants you to know!

Basically there's no need for a big seminar or conference for these guys. There are enough people in the general population that prey on the uninformed and naive who are trying to get rich. So essentially you have a lot of opportunisitc and a lot of stupid people in society.

You think the Nigerian scams are so prominent because of some seminar? No, it's because people fall for them everyday.

You know, I'm getting really sick and tired of coming to ebook sales pages where these self proclaimed gurus of the industry have their little signature at the bottom of the page with what has to be one of the worst pictures of themself possible. They all claim to be "well known" but not only have I never come across any of their blogs (probably because they aren't for free), but I've never seen them post on any forum or written any worthwhile articles..

Where do these pricks come from? Is there a scammer university that we don't know about? Where they go and recruit the biggest looking rednecks in the world and teach them how to rip people off and regurgitate other people's ideas so they can stuff them into an ebook and sell it off for $50 with a billion other "bonuses" from 1999?

I've made posts similar to this on other forums, but no one ever has a good answer for me. Does anyone notice the same shit, or is it just me being paranoid again? I'll make a list of names, and let's see if we can add them to the scammer board.

NEO I FOUND IT

The most fun is when one of this asshats does a google search about themselves and finds a thread blasting them and they come to "set the record straight." Magically a bunch of little asshats spring up as newbies to defend them as well telling everyone how much they have taught them and on and on.

It is ridiculous. These bozos don't have anything worthwhile. Let us all be serious, nobody with an ounce of common sense is going to sell you a way they make a lot of money for $10, $100, $1000, or $10000. It would just be completely idiotic. So the only people selling you a scheme to make money are ones that are only making money by selling generic knowledge to gullible people in the guise of a money making scheme.

It is a shame really. If you have a business that makes you $100k a month and keeps you in cigar boats, ferraris and hookers, why on earth would you sell it for $99.97? You wouldn't, because if you did you would be the biggest idiot walking the face of the earth, and who wants to take business and money-making advice from the biggest idiot walking the face of the earth.
