Who's Favorite Guitarist(s)?

I still listen to all the old standard shredders from time to time.

Vai
Satriani
Petrucci
EVH
Hammett
Dimebag
etc.

I started getting into jazz guitar a few years ago and really like Wes Montgomery, Norman Brown, Al Di Meola, and a few others. Classical, Segovia and Parkening are hard to beat

I'd say my favorite guitarist of all time is still Eric Johnson. I always loved his sound and while his singing efforts were generally crap, I would die to have his technique (and most of his vintage gear).

I'm also into this Andy McKee guy. He's wicked good too.

I always dug a lot of blues and folk. Mississippi John Hurt, Mississippi Fred McDowel (anyone with "Mississippi in their name is cool by me), Dave Van Ronk, John Fahey. They may not be the best "guitarists" but those guys can make you feel something.

In terms of more contemporary stuff I dig Doyle Dykes and Michael Hedges (RIP)

But yeah I can appreciate any good guitarist, be it classical, metal, whatever. These are just a couple y'all may or may not have already heard.

Prince is an undeniable badass. There is a video on youtube of him playing at the tribute to George Harrison concert that is absolutely sick. Definitely one of the top guys.
