People die everyday, but they're generally insignificant. I don't care about Joe the garbage man because 1) I don't know him, and 2) he's expendable. That doesn't mean a person has to be both 1 and 2 to qualify as being significant. Neda the Iranian girl is expandable and not somebody I know, but she happened to die and be caught on camera, and that's what matters. Her death was talked about, thought about, it has consequences. MJ's death is the same, and so is Billy Mays'.
The fact that you're starting a thread about MJ shows his significance. He means something to you, positive or negative is irrelevant. You don't care about MJ, nor the fact that he died, but at the same time nobody cares that you care whether MJ died or not. I can start a anti-anti-MJ thread, but it's probably as irrelevant and useless as this thread, at least in the sense that it provides no real value to anyone, nor poses anything revolutionary or even remotely new. Nobody I know "cares" about MJ dying, and I'm sure I have more than a few friends who still have no idea that MJ died. I don't get why this needs to be pointed out though.
Truth is, no matter how much all of us on WickedFire hate MJ and anyone who's not a marketer like Billy Mays, MJ probably has more awards and achievements than all of us on WickedFire will ever have, combined. Not that this is necessarily a good thing. And on a side note, even though I've only heard the most popular songs by MJ (and probably only 3-4 in total), there's no doubt that the man is talented as fuck. Liking his music or not doesn't change this fact.
