WickedFire running slow?

Irony would be if it's slow these days due to XRumer spam bots. I have some forums and it seems there are more and more of them every day. They rarely get through my anti-bot precautions but it doesn't stop them from continuously trying. At some point they'll be much like a DDoS attack.

this brings me to a question, is wf making use of only one db for all its members? Or are all the members bifurcated onto different servers? A friend of mine was asking about whether big websites made use of only a single db? Or were there many db's handling smaller amount of the load?

It's been bad for weeks, but today I give up. I'm only testing this thread to see how long it takes to post.

edit: Took about five minutes to post this... got about ten 500 errors, multiple "you are posting too fast" messages (wtf?), and a few time outs.

2% of the time it's snappy for me today, the other 98% it takes 30-112 seconds to load a page (usually on the higher side of that range).

Yep; Very slow in the last few days and getting the Internal Server Error message sometimes today, too.
