With "Winning" comes "Losing".. Worst parts of you life financially?

For the newbs of the board, though not everybody experiences this.

I've been self-employed since 15 or 16 and now rolling towards age 30. The internet always was my main source of income always will be.

but there is a dark period where I was self-employed and scraping dollars together to survive a month(s) and/or really struggle financially to survive and stay 'on the train' to the Dream. And this was after earning over 7 figs , a lot in cash and blowing it as a 18-21 year old with no family to give me examples of dealing with such income.


Has anyone else here experience financial struggle from:
1) poor spending habits
2) no savings
3) business going sour with Google search trends, etc


Point of the story, everyday of being self-employed is not Sweet Lemonade, sometimes it's just Lemons................ no sugar

heh, I actually remember being quite excited over that. I was 14 years old, flipping those burgers at McDonalds, and absolutely thrilled when I got bumped up from $4.50 to $4.75/hour, lol

i NEVER worked a 9 to 5 though.. I mean.. the part of this story was to inspire people but the reality too... to my story.... . the thing that always saved me was i had investments I could sell off ..........something to make everything sustainable for a short period until I could step back into better things

I never had a good savings

but i had websites I kept that were worth $100-$10k, i could flip at any given moment of need

I have diamond and gold jewelry, quality BlueNile GIA certified stuff from like 2002..... etc.............. really accidental investments

^^ Just to let you in on a secret, pretty near all of us have experienced making really good coin before, and pretty near all of us have also experienced what it's like to be piss poor. It's one of the perks of being self-employed.

Most of the honest people on this board have been there. Anyone that says they havent either has only been in business a short time, or is not telling the truth.

Was pretty broke in the 90s in my early 20s.

Had a rough time several years back for about 6 months. Lots of rice and beans.

Progress isn't linear and failure/adversity is a teacher.

It comes with the territory mate. I found that the money I learned really easily (from AM), I spent it twice as fast. Easy come, easy go.

It's in your attitude to spend 7 figures on stuff that much to get broke. You deserve it, what you thought when you spend that money?

Take responsability for what you've done, simple as that.
