............if you turned on the tv every day and saw 1,192 people shot at a school plastered all over the tv (or lets say the twin towers fell every 2 days), wouldn't something be done to act? Why is our government so fucking determined to disarm us based on a few shootings? Why arent other things being addressed and only our guns when they kill very few people compared to other things?

They don't warrant action when you have 46,000 people dying every year to second hand smoke, or as mentioned above, 430,000 for smoking in general.
Or obesity, which is 350k/year.
Even hard drugs kill only about 20k a year.
Virginia Tech shooting (high score still stands) was also done with handguns. In fact, 95% of all gun related deaths are from handguns. They're not trying to bring gun death totals down, they're trying to limit the types of weapons the citizenry can have to make it easier to control them.
People that support gun control on the basis of Sandy Hook and Aurora are irrational and illogical people letting their emotions take over. You're more likely to be struck by lightning than die in a mass shooting. Fucking sheep.
