Your family doesn't really understand what you do but they are pretty sure it isn't legal....

you see the "Win a FREE vacation" kiosk at the mall and your mind screams LEAD GENNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

I was a the furniture store a while back and they were demoing 3D televisions and the guy couldn't understand why I didn't want to give them all of my information and email address for a chance to win a 3D tv. I told him it's a lead gen and I'm not interested in being on any of their marketing lists. He just had a dumb look on his face and goes ok.

You don't get pissed off that you were an idiot and let yourself be autosigned up for a rebill and then forgot about it.

LMAO - I was at a 'winter-fest' (Christmas tree lighting) thing downtown last weekend with a few friends, and there was this booth for a local coffee shop or some shit. They had a wheel you could spin (like in a lottery) and wherever it landed, you got a coupon as designated on that wheel. But in order to play, you had to give up your email address. I was the only one who wouldn't do it.

When the people I was with asked why, I said "It's just lead generation". They looked at me funny. For some reason, I figured I'd make it clearer by saying, "The person in the booth is getting compensated probably for as many emails as she can get - almost like a sort of offline CPA marketing."

To which one guy responded, "CPA? It's for a coffee shop - not accountants."

You see a headline beginning with "WARNING:" In an offline "mom and pop" store, and don't even notice that dudes doing IM too. Wait, wut?

Fuck! 4 years ago I filled a zip submit and waited for a free macbook. As a "help" I forwarded that "'unbelievable offer" link (lol) to some of my friends too. I would not forget this for ever lol.

When you see every big companies products (like iphone 4s) a fluff for ripping off money by marketing efforts. When you see every new advertisement on TV and start finiding their business plan.

When you haven't left the house in 4 days

Ah, actually that's totally fair. I just assumed that since your location was London that English would be your first language. Apologies.
